I was glad to have found a decent place — or so I thought, until I met the waitress. First of all, I walked in and sat near the kitchen because that was the only table where I saw a menu. I ordered tea and some food. The waitress brought me utensils, and while I was still looking through the menu, I decided to sit by the window. I asked if I could move there — she snatched the utensils and menu from me and said, “You can sit wherever you want,” gave me a split-second smile, then looked at me with pure hatred.
Throughout the entire time I was there, she never once came by to ask if I needed anything, even though she walked past me several times and clearly saw that my tea was empty. I would understand if the place was full, but besides me, there were only two other customers.
Alright, I placed my order and stayed to eat. But with staff like that, next time I stop at this travel center, I’ll go to the McDonald’s next door and spend my money there. I’ll also write this review and leave the appropriate rating.
As for the food — reheated frozen vegetables and instant mashed potatoes. The meat also seemed like it had been frozen. It was some kind of stew, but some pieces were burnt on one side while others were just barely acceptable.
The only hint of politeness she showed was when she brought the check and politely pointed to the line where I could leave a tip.
In the end, I usually leave a good tip, but with this kind of attitude, they’ve lost me as a customer. I hope others read this review and think twice before visiting this place.
And if you don’t feel like going to McDonald’s, there’s a Target nearby — go there, grab a ready-made meal, and congratulations: you’ve just had a better experience than eating at this...
Read moreThe first day I was there my waitress was Connie took great care of me. Brought enough condiments for my coffee and food. Didnt need to keep asking her for hot sauce (actually asked me which kind I wanted Tabasco or Chalua), jelly, salt, pepper, ect, ect. Friendly as a lab puppy.
The following morning/day, Michelle was my waitress. Started out polite, but quickly flipped. Ordering my food, I was cut off mid question, (as she was writing it down as though I wanted what I was unsure of), throughout the entire meal I had to continually ask for salt, pepper, sugar, coffee pot refills, hot sauce. Reason being is because she felt the need to bring out two packets of salt and one of pepper each time, when I asked for hot sauce she brought one bottle of Tabasco that had three, maybe four drops. When I asked for Chalua it was brought out in a little pickle cup and had MAYBE twice as much as the Tabasco bottle. Walked by my table 8-10 times while the coffee pot lid was offset, (trying to indicate it was empty), before I got up to get her attention for a refill and some jelly. When she brought the coffee she chucked the jelly on the table. All together I was in this restaurant for about 45 minutes.
On a side note, I've been to many Country Prides across this great nation. The servings seemed as though they where smaller than usual (both visits). Maybe I was just extra hungry, both times. But on the upside, the were just as good as any other C.P. I've ate at.
I am quite disappointed in the service I received from the waitress today. Honestly, I feel like the servings could have been alittle more. But between not having to cook on the truck, and the service rendered from Connie, I was able to muster out...
Read moreMy first time eating here. I ordered a sandwich and what looked to be a crack in my plate was a wiry hair.Maybe beard or eyebrow i just don't want to think about it. I almost lost my lunch right there.I couldn't even continue to look at my food let alone eat it. I told my waitress and she said "that's strange, the cook doesn't even have hair". She gave me my bill and never offered to take it off the check even though half of my sandwich was un-eaten along with my mac n cheese. I used to waitress and this is usually standard to not pay for something especially since I couldn't eat anything after that. Not a good first experience at all! I should have asked to speak...
