I was in this restaurant on September 28, 2019, from out of town. My husband and I ordered: 1- All Star Special (7.59), added cheese, and onions to the hash brown, and cheese for the egg (1.50), with orange juice (1.55); plus 1- regular breakfast (6.59), added cheese and onions to the hash brown and cheese to the egg (1.50). There was no problem with the food. It was great. My problem is with the waitress who took our order and took it upon herself to take the rest of our money without asking us. My order came to 18.73. She charged us $24.24. For what? All of the prices are the same. I asked for a receipt and all she gave me was a pre-printed total, not a detailed receipt of our order. She clearly knew she took our money. My advise to anyone else visiting this Waffle House. PLEASE check your receipt before leaving because some of the people working there are not honest, and will take your money without asking and try to cover it up. I wish I would have gotten her name, but after reading this post she will know who she is. What goes around comes around. You may have taken my money, just remember that when it...
Read moreWe wanted coffee and something small to eat, so just had plain waffles. The coffee was great, the waffle was freshly cooked (& you can watch the cooks while they work, which is fun!) The service was friendly and efficient.
However, all the machines (and staff) looked a little tired and over-used. It felt like a place that needs the owner to invest more time/money. People were working hard, but you felt they had probably been there for hours, probably on low pay. We were given an inflated bill, which was corrected when the waitress saw us checking it (maybe it was an honest mistake, maybe not...maybe if you work hard all day for a pittance I understand why you might be tempted).
It wasn’t the cleanest kitchen I have ever seen, and I wouldn’t have wanted to eat anything that wasn’t freshly cooked (like salad — not sure how hygienic the prep...
Read moreNo greeting when walking in, no “hello, we’re busy, but we’ll be right with you.” Nothing. ALL the cooks, waitresses, anyone that works there, will look at you like you just inconvenienced them majorly. I don’t mind waiting when a place is busy, but to be treated like I did something wrong, is no way to run a business. In fact, I have no clue how they’re still in business, other then we are just passing through & nothing else is open, other than fast food. We left soon after we finally sat… because we saw a waitress handling other people’s food with her hands after cleaning off dirty tables and dishes. YUCK!! It seemed very unclean at that point. We went across the street to Wendy’s at that point. Much better choice after...
