EL PAKAS Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Greenville

We have eaten at this location on average, once per week for multiple years in a row. Today, for the first time, we ordered take out instead of dine in. When arriving, I noticed a sign on the front door that said kids meals were $1 off and included free drinks. It did not specify dine in. As I had ordered 2 kids meals, I requested two sprites, and was told that was fine. The waitress then asked the manager or owner, not sure which, and he said dine in only. I made a comment that the sign didn't say that, and it didn't make sense to me. I joked that I should cancel the order, sit down, order from the menu, put it in to go boxes, and save 2 bucks plus get 2 free drinks. The waitress then handed me the receipt to sign. I did. While I was signing it though, she accused me of snatching it from her. I was flabbergasted. I was simply taking and signing what she handed to me. The waitress then went in the back and talked about me and our interaction in a rude manner, which I could hear. When the owner came out with my food, I told him I may not ever come back. His response was, "ok, I have lots of customers, not just you." On top of that, when arriving home I found out they had left out the white sauce I requested...

Food quality is pretty good. Main criticism, other than that the hours listed here need updating (at the time this is being written), is order fulfillment. The food in the attached image was, ostensibly, "fajitas sauted with bell peppers, onions, and tomato... served with rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole salad, and tortillas," with, "chorizo, beef, and chicken", or as it's apparently also referred to, "part of an enchilada [or something] with chorizo and beef or chicken with French fries, and without bell peppers, onions, tomato, rice, beans, or tortillas." As comically wrong as that was, I'd dock 3 stars out of 5, but they're at around an 80% success rate on my orders, so I'm limiting the deduction to 2 stars. Theoretically, I could have opened up the carry-out container to check the contents before leaving, but I either wasn't insane enough or wasn't yet paranoid...

When we arrived there was no one at the host/hostess stand but I seen several people waiting in the cramped waiting are??? Entry way or whatever they call it. The restaurant was busy but I assumed someone would take our name etc...after 10 minutes and being shoved past by associates getting drinks a women finally asked us how many in our party....it was a wait of an unknown amount of time. All but my daughter in law went to wait in the car because there is no place to sit. Thirty minutes later we get a table. The service was slow and the waitress was rude and incompetent. The food on the other hand was very good but all in all too many cons and not enough pros. I wouldnt wait and get bad service food no matter how good. So a thumb up for the chief but everyone else gets thumbs down. Not worth the wait...
