Grounded — Restaurant in Greenville

I went out to take care of somethings and found out about Grounded after meeting the owner! So my Husband and I went over (I love coffee) and let me just say the experience, the vibe, the coffee and the food were amazing. It gives me a vibe from back home. We walked in and were greeted by every single person there. Including Poppy who is the nicest and sweetest! We call my grandfather Poppy and we talked about how it's common where we are from. My Husband had the Golden Kiss of Death and WHEW!! It will definitely wake you up! I had The Sweet Carolina and it was sooo good. We had the Fireman sandwich for breakfast the croissant roll was light fluffy and sweet, eggs were perfect with banana peppers, pepperoni and pepper jack cheese. Wife and I got an americano and a cortado. They were both great! It's rare to find a coffee house in the area that even offers a cortado. So Grounded seems to be one of the few shops that really knows coffee. Fun, informal atmosphere inside too. We'll be back!

Update (spring 2024): Customer service has gone downhill. The current employees are unprofessional. We went once and the main young guy working was "hanging out" with his friends, who had pulled chairs up to the counter where you add sugar, etc to your coffee. Preventing customers from using it. Most recently, my wife and I went in and stood at the counter to place our order for 5 minutes. Three young employees were working, but they did not acknowledge us, tell us that they'd help us in a few minutes or even male eye contact or smile. We walked out and went to Starbucks. Bummer. The service is good they are great people, the problem I have is with the food I had ordered. I ordered avocado toast and a butterfinger iced latte. I’ve never had either of these before but I’ve had a few other items that were good so I decided to give it a try. The toast was literally not toasted, the topping was granted very fresh avocado but they added too much tomatoes as their garnish, no seasoning to the avocado, and there was an excessive amount of oil poured on top (maybe to preserve the freshness idk) it did not taste good at all. The latte I ordered was surprisingly watered down even with the ice not being melted into it (I expected some watered down flavor since it is an iced drink) although the flavor was too muddled it didn’t emulate butter finger at all which was extremely disappointing.
