Sip&Spin Coffee & Records — Restaurant in Greenville

Absolutely incredible coffee shop and record store. There was more to do than sit back, drink coffee and listen to a play-list - the shop itself will appeal to your inner history buff, vinyl junky, caffeine fanatic and the love for architecture that you didn't know you had until now.

One of the employees behind the counter was being mentored by a more experienced one and he taught her how to craft the drinks with excellence and in a way that made everyone feel at ease. The drinks are consistent, flavorful and well caffeinated. Definitely going to be back.

The only discomfort I found was with the robot that dispenses paper towels in the bathroom. As soon as I accepted the one it offered, it would immediately offer another one. Most sci-fi books indicate that the robot rebellion begins with small tokens of politeness being taken for granted by the human. Not wanting to turn this awesome shop into the ground zero for Judgement Day, I graciously accepted every paper towel offered until half an hour later when the robot sensed my discomfort from holding all the paper towels and stopped offering. Unfortunately for humanity, it started grumbling and a steady red light came on. Likely offended by my discomfort and copious hoarding of its once bountiful supply of...

Service was friendly enough...but extremely slow. Don't go if you are pressed for time. I went in and ordered an hour before my event (3 drinks)... instead of making them all and calling our name or a number or any kind of system that would make sense, they make them one at a time and call out the drink name. That would be well and fine if there weren't 50 people jammed in the place and ordering the same drinks. I kept up with where our cups were in the line of drink making. I knew who ordered before me, so I knew when my drinks should start coming up...they started calling out the names and whoever else had ordered that particular drink just walks up and takes them. No regard for place in line or anything else. After the person behind me started getting their drinks I let the barista know that mine had been taken...they acted like this was a totally foreign concept and how could I possibly say such a thing. Then it took another 15-20 minutes to get my order replaced! It was a total mess and I wouldn't recommend. I won't go back until they figure out a better system and better service. The coffee wasn't any better than any other coffee chain...and a lot...

Update: What a cop out response that you were closed and “allowed” me to come in as if you were doing me a favor. It was during business hours and you were open which is why I stopped. Someone even came in and ordered after me. If you were closed you should’ve been closed. Please don’t use that as an excuse for unprofessional behavior. Sad.

Decent place but wouldn’t recommend. I stopped in for coffee and needed to use the restroom and they had it closed off. Said my daughter and I had to use the men’s restroom. Eventually after some questioning by another gentleman that was in the shop, the woman making my drink stated that she had it locked because she had a curling iron or something plugged in and didn’t want anyone to get burned. I’m not sure if it was true but either way it was very unprofessional and really off putting (especially for an establishment that touts itself as being woman owned). My partner was appalled when I told him....
