Stepping into Amore Bakery and Cafe in the historical Italian neighborhood of Gretna is like taking a delightful little trip to Italy without leaving Louisiana. Nestled among charming streets that whisper tales of yesteryears, Amore offers a warm, inviting ambiance that pairs beautifully with its array of delectable treats.
The interior of the cafe is thoughtfully decorated, balancing rustic charm with modern comfort, creating an atmosphere that's both welcoming and stylish. Large windows illuminate the space with natural light, making it a perfect spot for a morning coffee or a leisurely afternoon break.
Amore’s menu boasts an impressive selection of baked goods that are as pleasing to the eye as they are to the palate. From flaky pastries and rich, indulgent cakes to beautifully crafted breads, each item is a testament to the skills of their passionate bakers. The cannoli here is a must-try; it's crisp, sweet, and beautifully filled with creamy, subtly sweet ricotta that's just the right amount of rich without being overwhelming.
The coffee selection is equally commendable, featuring classic Italian espressos and cappuccinos that are robust and perfectly brewed. The baristas are skilled and happy to suggest combinations, making each visit a unique experience.
Service at Amore Bakery and Cafe is friendly and attentive. The staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, whether you're a regular or a first-time visitor exploring the quaint surroundings.
Overall, Amore Bakery and Cafe is not just a cafe but a delightful experience, serving up a slice of Italian heritage right in the heart of Gretna. Whether you’re looking for a quick bite, a place to meet friends, or a quiet corner to relax and unwind, Amore is a spot that will charm you with...
Read moreI used to go to this coffee shop at least every Saturday. During the summers, I always get a large ice coffee with no ice. The cost of their ice coffee is already high with about 5 dollars for a large, however, I do like to spend a little bit more to support local business. I ask for no ice because it ends up being about 2 sips of coffee when you add ice. I was told that if I ask for no ice, then I would have an upcharge of an extra 2 dollars. That is about 7 dollars for a large coffee. However, a large coffee is completely undiluted when hot. There is no information about whether or not it is cold brewed or not and therefore worth a little bit more, but in no way should a large cup of coffee be 7 dollars. I choose to go to Common Grounds close by. There, not only is my large ice coffee bigger for less money, they have no problem with filling up a cup without ice and even asked if after adding my own cream, if they could top it off with more iced coffee. They are also a local business and would choose to go there than a place that I have been a loyal customer since their opening that wants to upcharge 2 dollars for a cup of coffee. Furthermore, if you go into the city, all ice coffee with a cup is 1$ if you bring in your own cup at shake sugaree with or...
Read morePrices are high. It appears that many of the items here are purchased from surrounding businesses and the prices are marked up. Customer service is poor. Employees are rude. Updated: I find it offensive that you would accuse me at cursing your employees. I do not curse and would never in a public establishment. I am sorry that you believe that your business is much better than they are. It is my opinion that your prices are high and employees are rude. I do not appreciate the retaliatory accusations against me, when you are the one making false statements, when I voice my opinion in a review. You have several outstanding reviews and I am glad that the service you provided me does not seem be a trend. It is my hope that you continue to provide service as you have to others. I just didn't see it. You take offense to all of your poor reviews and post argumentative responses. You say I am harassing businesses. I have posted reviews for 6 businesses in 3 years and many of them...
