Normally like this place but we asked for medium burgers and they were burnt and medium well. Not good char...just burnt. Feels like the food isn't seasoned at all...brunch burger had zero flavor. Tabasco sauce is almost always the worst choice...invest in real hot sauce not pepper sauce. The pork rinds were cheap dollar store flavor and cold which suggests they weren't made fresh. We made the mistake of feeling like a meat restaurant would have the fresh cooked skins with the fat, hot sauce, etc. The ranch dressing was flavorless and made ZERO SENSE with the pork skins. So the nail in the coffin...we changed our sides and nobody said separate or increased cost. Not that its a huge deal but it's something that may be important to some of the seniors eating here. $5 for a salad versus french fries is insane. The restaurant is empty every time we come and we only came today because the place across the street is wall to wall packed and a wait. Maybe next time I'll change my review back up to the 4 or 5 range but today everything was bad.
Last piece, the employees all seem like they hate it here. Maybe because the place is dead...or just early...idk...but they never seem like its something they want...
Read moreOur visit to this establishment was prompted by an influencer's recommendation. The atmosphere seemed more like a bar rather than a restaurant. The service, including the server, was somewhat slow. The Crawfish Nachos, served hot, were quite delightful. In contrast, the Caesar salad contained numerous stalks and was not particularly enjoyable. Nevertheless, I consumed as much as possible, as my father was treating. Furthermore, I ordered a cup of gumbo, but the roux tasted burnt, and there was a minimal amount of meat. At best, it was lukewarm, and I did not finish it. Also, I ordered a lemon drop martini, which arrived at the table with spillage due to being overfilled. It was rather messy. There was a hair on the utensils, so we requested a replacement set. Finally, we ordered the beignet fries, which were delicious while hot but became unpalatable when cool. Overall, the dining experience was not satisfactory, and we do not...
Read moreAbsolutely stellar experience. We went on a Sunday night around 7pm, easily seated outside. We started with the fried pickles. Perfectly lightly fried with fresh dill sprinkled on top. It was heavenly. For dinner, I had the blue cheese and shroom burger add bacon with truffle fries. The burger was perfectly cooked, the dong phong bun was sweet and soft. The blue cheese and mushrooms complimented the burger wonderfully without overpowering it. The fries were crispy and delicious. I highly recommend upgrading from garlic fries to truffle fries. We split a creme Brule for dessert and it was a hit. The staff was all polite and approachable. They just knocked it out of the park. It's a great addition to Old Gretna and I can't wait...
