Stopped in Omaha on the way to Denver. The billboard that advertises a steak $9.99 is just a ruse to get you to stop, as it is nowhere to be found on the menu. I had a steak, at the price of $13.99 it came with salad bar and choice of a side. I asked for a loaded baked potato. With my meal came my check, which whenever this happens, it makes me feel unwelcome to order anything else. My steak waa mostly overcooked as it was not cut evenly, grainy and dry. The salad plates that my wife and I were done with stacked and with her used tea bags and lemon wedges remained on the table for the duration of our meal. I noticed that I was charged extra for the bacon and cheese on our potatoes, at any other restaurant the waitress will let you know of any extra charge, not here. After this visit, Sapp bros has taken it's place next to cracker barrel, love the store but never again will...
Read moreWe came in three hours before close on Sunday night. We didn’t resize half the restaurant was closed and we, mistakenly set in the closed section. It was the biggest table in the restaurant and there was 4 adults and 4 kids. Instead of telling us immediately that section was closed, the one and only person working, stood there staring at us and then after we finally all got into the booth proceeds to say “did you not like my road block?” We were all confused and just kind of giggled because we weren’t sure what she meant by that. Mind you, we are the ONLY table in the restaurant. She then tells us the table we are at is closed. The way she said it and the miserable look she had on her face said it all. So we got up and took our business elsewhere. She didn’t want to be at work and she didn’t want a table with 4 kids and 4 adults. I hope her day(s) get better, she sure...
Read moreThe Corned Beef Hash n eggs here is simply the worst ... that is not the way you do hash n eggs ... deep fried frozen hash rounds (like hardies serve) with the most tasteless chopped corned beef I've ever been served, the eggs were over easy, and the only thing worth eating on the tray ... I find it really hard to believe that having fresh potatoes on hand in a restaurant kitchen that serves any breakfast dish is not essential. Fresh eggs, real potato, fresh chopped corned beef , fresh buttered toast or muffin ... it's just not that complicated ... and as far as the presentation goes ... STOP DOING ODDBALL CRAZY PLATES AND PLATTERS ... it's just hash n eggs ... normal people don't care about your fancy presentation ... they just want a good tasty hash n eggs breakfast on a simple plain plate ... I seriously doubt that I'll be back here...
