July 8 update: We came back for our first dine-in experience at Quality Thai. Service was a little slow, but the food was delicious. I had the Massaman Curry and it was as good as any I have had anywhere. Yummy!
The spice levels were a bit higher than the members of our party expected.
Original Take-out review: We had our first take-out order of Chicken Pad Thai from Quality Thai. We asked them to make it as spicy as possible. It was delicious, and the heat of the spice did not overwhelm the other flavors. They included a slice of lime with the pad thai as we had requested. There was less chicken included than I had hoped, but still a reasonable amount.
Every restaurant has its own take on pad thai, and I suppose every customer has different expectations of this noodle dish. We are undecided whether Quality Thai unseated our longtime favorite place in Omaha for pad Thai, but it is the best that I have eaten in Gretna.
There were quite a few diners in the restaurant when we picked up our food on a Saturday evening, but still plenty of seating available. All looked pleased. I noticed a couple being served pad Thai, which was presented attractively.
We will definitely be back to try other items...
Read moreThis was our first time there and everything was a mess. We were the first ones in the restaurant and no one else was waiting. Our waitress was very friendly at first. Took our order and then probably 15 minutes later our husbands both got their order but we didn’t get ours but was told it’d be out soon. We waited and waited and no one ever came over to tell us what was going on and why we hadn’t got our meals yet. Our husbands finished their meals and we still hadn’t gotten ours. No one knew what they were doing and our waitress never came back to our table the rest of the evening. Finally another waitress brought a plate and it wasn’t ours. We tried to ask about what the holdup was and no one knew. Finally we did get our order. We were thirsty but could not get anyone’s attention for more water. We asked to talk to the manager but apparently there wasn’t one there after she said she’d go get them. Food was good at least. Needless to say we...
Read moreTried Quality Thai for the first time this evening. We ordered samosas, drunken ramen (mild) and pad thai (mild)… except when I got home and took a bite of the pad thai, it felt like I had been personally invited to dine at the gates of hell. My taste buds briefly saw their ancestors.
Called the restaurant, and instead of laughing at my suffering, the staff was incredibly kind and apologetic. They admitted it might’ve been the wrong order and immediately offered a refund or to remake it. I went with the remake, and when I showed up, they treated me like an old friend instead of “that guy who can’t handle spice.” Huge points for customer service.
The samosas? Perfect. The drunken ramen? Life-changing. The corrected pad thai? Worth every bite (and no longer a threat to national security).
Quality Thai turned a fiery mistake into one of the best takeout experiences I’ve had. Highly recommend—this place just earned a permanent spot in...
