Worst Service I have ever had. Waitress was rude and unprofessional. Had to ask 4 different times for a high chair. Food was slow to arrive. Overpriced.

Admittedly my friend was buzzed and a little squirrely but the waitress made no attempt to take his order properly and messed up his food. Then got angry with him when she brought out the wrong food. She was also so rude during the exchange where he reordered food that she brought him a wrong order again and was again very rude about it. In the end they charged him with both meal, despite it being their screw up.

After we left(he paid the high bill but none of us left a tip due to poor service) the waitress called his family and his job the next day trying to get him fired. I'm not kidding. She claimed he was harassing other customers. He was not. He greeted two different customers. Both were relations of his. One being his boss's mother. She claimed he was screaming and yelling demanding beer. He was not. He had a single beer that he ordered as we were sitting down. She claimed he refused to pay the bill. This is untrue. He wasnt happy with paying the high cost of the bill, because he was charged with a plate he did not want or eat. But he paid it anyways.

All that being said, the owner who had agreed to let him reorder when the waitress messed in the first place(the waitress wasn't willing to) seems to be a very nice person.

So due to them standing behind a rude waitress that treats people poorly they get this review.

In summary: Poor Service Unprofessional and rude waitress Slow food prep time Overpriced At least the owner is nice and polite

If you want want good Mexican food in Grinnell skip this place and go to Los Girasoles one mile...

I went 2 times over a 6 month period thinking that maybe the first time was a fluke, I was wrong. If you're looking to waste $50 and about 2 hours of your life on a "dinner" for two this is it. You'll have about 3 different waitresses ask what you want to eat within the first 30 seconds of sitting down. If you say you haven't looked at the menu yet they act offended and don't come back. After you flag someone down for your order I hope you don't order a margarita because I think they squeeze them out of the pre made frozen tubes you buy at Walmart because they are horrendous. You will then wait about 45 minutes for your food to come out on a night when the restaurant is half full. You are then in for a surprise, what you get on your plate looks like it came out of a depressing frozen Mexican meal for one with poor seasoning and no flavor. But that's not all, you are expected to get your own box if for some reason you want to take your frozen meal home, because the wait staff will avoid you like the Black Plague. After trying to get any employees attention you finally just have to go to the cash register to pay twice what the meal should have cost. My recommendation; if you want Mexican food go to the one downtown, if you want a more expensive meal go to the steakhouse and actually get what...

Visited on 11/20/23 between 2:00-2:30pm. This is within a mid-sized town; Generic, barebones & worn. Space looks to hold approx. 100 patrons, only 5-10 others during my duration. Its within a 7-8 businesses shopping strip that looks to be a decade old for sure; Most the spaces are not the originals with a couple vacant. Only 1 other dining option within .5 mile (Pizza Ranch). Had their "Jose Burittos" lunch special with chicken & 1 soda. Did enjoy the complementary chips & salsa but the entree was bland. The entree was priced in the $9 range for the lunch special price, they had rung it up as the regular menu price before having it fixed. Was understaffed; They had only 1 person doing the hosting, waiting, serving & billing... with 3-5 other tables occupied. Could use another...
