It’s sad for me to have to leave such a rating. Growing up, my Dad took the whole Family to Triángulo 1 and I remember the food being really good, as a family of 6, we all loved it and looked forward to visiting the restaurant each month, sometimes several times a month for many years. My main thing was Arroz con Jueyes, bolitas de pesca’o (Masitas de pescado) and habichuelas guisadas and some tostones on the side. I brought my partner from the USA with me 1 week ago on May 2025 proudly telling them about my childhood memories in El triángulo 1 from are 5 through age 15 and how good the food was. Triángulo 1 was closed so I went to Triángulo 2, and it was sad and disappointing to see my partner spit the Ensalada de Mariscos into their napkin because it was just so so so bad they couldn’t swallow it. I tried the Ensalada de mariscos and hoped that I could argue and say it wasn’t bad, I hoped that maybe their specific bite was off but that the rest would be good, but it really was just the worst I ever tried. I put the plate on the counter and one of the servers noticed so he retired the plate and I didn’t want to specify what was wrong because I hate to be rude, so I just said I wouldn’t eat it but that it was okay and that I would still pay for it. He insisted to take it off the check and after that, my designated waiter (who was the bartender) came to us and started commenting that the Ensalada de Mariscos was bad and said it was because of the amount of vinegar but It really was just everything. It tastes like it had been frozen for over a month, then defrosted for a few hours, then stored in the fridge already mixed for a few days and then just served with no flavor, no nothing, it was just so bad. We sat by the bar, by the bartender’s request as he said that he could take the order right away without us having to wait if I sat by him. Since I called to make a reservation but they didn’t pick up the phone, I decided to get there and I was okay with a wait time, but there wasn’t a wait time and I thought it was nice that the bartender wanted to be prompt with our food. The bartender was extremely intense, to the point that when food fell off my hand while taking a bite, he immediately passed his rag on my table from his standing place, almost like a mother monitoring her baby eating. Very uncomfortable. I tried to have somewhat of a romantic dinner with my partner, but the waiter/bartender kept interrupting and talking and not giving us any privacy. I understand he wanted to get a good tip, so I took it with grace and I tipped him nicely, even while he made me very uncomfortable. The mofongo was dripping in oil and had no flavor. I wanted to order Arroz con Jueyes but they said they don’t make it anymore, which was the whole reason why I even went there so the Bartender insisted I tried the Arroz con Langosta and Omg, it tasted like it was made with the Tap water that flows right after a Hurricane, tierrosa, so I took a bit and my partner took a bite too and that was it. We didn’t want anyone to feel bad so we just asked for boxes right away, put the food in the boxes, paid, Walked outside and threw the food in the trashcan. It’s sad and I hate to waste food, but it was impossible for my palate to take it. They had deleted the Ensalada the Marisco so after that cut we still paid $90 plus the tip and it was the worst experience I’ve ever had in a Restaurant in Puerto Rico, ever. Most painful $105 spent ever on really bad food that we did not eat and had the waiter not noticed me setting the plate of Mariscos aside, it would have been way higher than $105.
I’m so sorry that this happened. I’m sorry the restaurant lost its magic and I’m sorry that my childhood memories of such good food will forever be just that, memories. I’m also ashamed to have bragged for so long about delicious food that turned out to be disgusting.
I hope that somehow changes are made and that you can figure out a way to make it good...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with my last visit to this place. I WILL NEVER RETURN. I grew up in Guánica but moved to Florida over 20 years ago. I visit PR every 5 years and always visit this place until this year. They have a misleading menu. BE AWARE! I wanted to eat lobster and they have a page where they have the lobster listed for $39.95 and you will think they all cost $39.95 so I ordered lobster a la parrilla. I wish to have taken a picture of the menu which by the way is very old and needing an update. So, I find out they charge for lobsters a la parilla by the size when they bring me the check. The $39.95 price only apply to only a few lobster options. I was charged 99.95 for my plate!!! And it was not even good, I was not impressed at all. I tried to express myself with the cashier when I paid because the server was not even trying to be helpful. Nothing, absolutely nothing was done about it. She told us that they always purchase lobsters of 1 1/2 pounds or bigger meaning they will never cost $39.95 so why they don’t have this information in the menu??? They must say that lobsters on the grill minimum cost is $99.95 and up. I would have never ordered this plate if I knew it was going to cost this much. In addition to the waste of money, my daughter asked for empanadillas de jueyes, they didn’t have any. My mom asked for the surtido from the appetizers menu, they didn’t have the shrimps that was part of the surtido and the server offered to replace the shrimps with cheese. What??? Cheese is not a replacement for seafood. The table was not clean. My lobster was prepared al ajillo and they didn’t even bring butter with it. The server disappeared until the end so I couldn’t asked for the butter. It was a total dissatisfaction and disappointment. I wish zero stars was an option. I ate a lot better during the rest of my days in PR for a lot less. I will...
Read moreWe came here on the recommendation of our Airbnb host.
Very quick service on a Sunday night. We ordered Pina coladas, the seafood stuffed red snapper, empanadilla, and monfongo stuffed with seafood. For dessert we ordered the vanilla flan.
Everything, all of it, was totally amazing. The red snapper melted in my mouth, it was stuffed with lobster and shrimp which were just as succulent and delicious. The monfongo was tangy and hearty, the seafood stuffing perfectly cooked. The side sauce completed the dish, balancing the tang, starch, and seafood.
The flan was probably the best I have ever had, it had the best creamy yet custard like texture.
The Pina coladas were amazing too, topped with whipped cream and a cherry and perfectly blended.
The restaurant itself is very nice inside. Sea themed with shells under the table glass and stone walls and warm lighting.
Our server was really great and recommended our main dishes (which were awesome). He was also very attentive and very pleasant to interact with
Overall a very pleasant experience. I hope to return again someday and try everything...
