We celebrated an early Mother's Day dinner yesterday. We had made reservations for 6. We arrived on time and were waiting our turn at the hostess station while they seated another party. A man came up behind me and pushed his way though out family members to get to the hostess stand. He cut in front of all of us to let the hostess know his party was all there and they were ready to be seated. My brother-in-law proceeded to tell the gentleman that we too were waiting and he had jumped the line. He proceeded to inform us he had reservations, and we told him we did as well. Instead of the hostess telling him to wait his turn, she took the man's party ahead of us. When she returned, she took a phone call before even helping us, then rudely asked us our name. She never apologized for her actions or for the rude man. We were seated in the back corner of the buffet room. The last time we were here in March the food was bad. Chicken was dried out, prime rib was tough, veggies not fully cooked, and cold food. The food this time was worse. Dried out chicken, undercooked carrots, sweet potatoes not fully cooked, my daughter pulling multiple chicken bones from her chicken and noodles to the point it grossed her out and she wouldn't eat any more, and again cold food. The only good thing about this visit was our waitress, who made sure our drinks were filled and to see if we needed anything. This was an hour long drive of disappointment, and an expensive disappointment to say the least. I won't be back, my family won't be back, and if that's how you want to treat people by being rude and disrespectful and seating people who line jump, then I'm sure there are plenty of other places with better food and friendlier staff to take...
Read moreWillie and Reds has a very interesting history in the local community, having been around in various forms for over 40 years. That said, you will want to get there just a touch early, as there is almost always a line to get in before opening (even with reservations, there is a line to get in, the place and the food is that popular..... And that good ☺️❗). Once in, however, you will notice two things - friendliness and great atmosphere. This place is always tastefully decorated. Once seated, you have two options - menu or smorgasbord. To say the least, you can't go wrong either way, as all of the food here is very well prepared and is very tasty. There were multiple options this night, with regular and Cajun fish, beef prime rib, Italian sausage, and more. And that's not mentioning desserts. Sides are very plentiful as well and again are tasty. The service is friendly, efficient, and friendly no matter which option you choose. And for the quality of the food you get, this is an extremely great deal and won't break either the bank or your budget. Whether in area, it making a special trip, Willie and Red's is the place to be for a great meal and...
Read moreBeen going to Willie and Red's every week since they open up after taking over from welivers . The place has just went down and down but trying to keep going back after telling myself i wouldn't go back because seeing how the new owners show how the might dollar is the only thing that matters to them and keep letting the quality keep going down with cheaper cuts of meats, not being able to keep a cook that can cook the way you would expect from a steak like it was when the welivers family ran it. I have finally made my mine not to go back after the owner was more worried about being paid for a $2.95 salad then how a customer that comes 1 to 2 times a week felt about getting 2 steaks that was one way over cooked to the second one still cold from the cooler after cutting into it. As far as are waitress you could not ask for a better person that wanted to help but hands was tied with a dicktator of a owner worried about a $2.95 side then a happy customer. Sorry to have to give up a place me and my wife had been going to since are high school prom 28 years ago. I guess i will follow alot of the older customers that know long...
