After golf on a recent visit, I decided to try the Friday night prime rib special at Mullins afterward. All I can say is... WOW!!! I have to admit I wasn't expecting much, not least because everything is "to go" at the moment (though you can grab a table inside or out and eat from the containers). And you never really know what you'll get with prime rib. However. IT WAS AMAZINGLY FANTASTIC! Roberto, the head chef, explained to me that they use very high quality Angus beef... and it shows. The prime rib was generously sized, cooked to perfection just the way I ordered it, and was every bit as delicious and juicy as at any fine restaurant. It came with some really yummy mashed potatoes and even nicely done vegetables on the side (plus a dinner roll, butter, a huge container of tasty au jus, and horseradish sauce). Read moreNot a place I would recommend. I was denied service by the Ritz-Carlton saying I could only eat there if I stayed as a guest. After explaining I had driven quite a ways to have a meal they sent me to this place. No one was in the place when I got there. As I walked out. Someone walked through and said hello but didn't offer a table or any service. Went to the restroom and left and never saw another soul. I'm very disappointed at how the Ritz-Carlton treats guests these days. I've done several stays at this location and always enjoyed it. I think another result of COVID.
