Rice King — Restaurant in Halls Crossroads

Those who gave 5 stars most likely they placed their order to take out and never dined in (the girl seemed surprised that we were eating there). The girl who took our order looked 12 years old and was doing her homework at the next table. The food was ok but I've had better, MUCH better! The chicken had a strange texture (I'm not sick yet). We had curried chicken with rice. We exchanged the white rice to chicken fried rice. There was no chicken pieces to it, no vegetables either and they charged an extra for the change. Ok, we accepted that but still. There was vegetables in the chicken curry only, not alot though. The floor near our table was sticky. We told her about it but she said we could change table (she gave us a blank stare as if we were space aliens or something). I had to get up and get packets of duck sauce because the chicken curry tasted bland. They only had soda bottles and no refills. I went to pay and came back I tripped and almost fell on the table because the sticky floor gripped my shoes. This is definitely not a place to dine in and I am never coming back here to eat! The service was not good. I thought about maybe coming back for the General Tso to take out but I can get better elsewhere or even...

This is your poster child for distressed strip mall Asian plates. Why we stopped here instead of several other likely better choices in the area is a topic for another day, but let's suffice to say it was about 730-800pm. There were still customers coming and going.

They offer a very limited set of standard popular Asian dishes, served up quick, hot, and average-priced. However they redefine bland and flavorless.

The place, being a divey strip mall suite, does not engender confidence in the sanitation practices. I was thinking to myself whether this place might actually be like some of the scary places shown on hidden camera shows. The dirty floors and unbussed tables were giving me the willies.

Pros: constant take out traffic means food is not sitting around long, even for a late dinner. Portions are large. I did not get sick.

Rice King has a couple different locations, but the only one I've ever had is close to the house. Their food is always made fresh to order and is absolutely delicious! They've made it convenient to order online and pay online so all you have to do is pick up your meal! They keep several types of cold drinks available, even cold 2 liters which is awesome! Their customer service is great and there is never a delay on food. They give generous portions in microwave safe plastic containers which makes reheating leftovers easy because there's less mess to deal with!
