Recently on different occasions I ordered pizza and went to Sergio's for Dinner. Let me start with my take out order; it was delicious! I ordered a large plain pizza and a caesar salad for pickup. The pizza was hot when I picked it up and the salad was kept refrigerated until I got there, which is always nice. The pizza is very good. They definitely use a homemade sauce with fresh cheese and the dough/crust was also very good. The pizza had 'structure' meaning the dough wasn't burnt or hard but it didn't fall or droop when you went to eat it...a very important quality to me when it comes to pizza. Overall, the pizza was tasty and fresh. The salad was also very good as well. As I mentioned, I recently went to Sergio's for the first time to dine-in. The restaurant itself is very cozy and offers ample parking; just make sure you don't pass it as you are casually driving down the road because if you aren't paying attention you may miss it. Inside you get a very cozy and casual family Italian 'diner-esque' feel, which was great. This is one of those places where the quality of the food and staff speak for itself. They don't need a fancy restaurant to serve really good food with a smile. After sitting down we were greeted by a very nice waitress who was polite and very helpful, and I believe much of the staff is probably the same way. I ordered chicken parm with a caesar salad. The salad was very good and the chicken parm and pasta was delicious! One of my favorite parts was the gravy (or sauce). It was hearty and homemade. The menu isn't huge but offers all of the classic Italian dishes that we all love, so if you like Italian food you will have no problem finding something to eat. I finished up dinner with a piece of the peanut butter pie which was amazing. Overall, I really enjoyed my first experience at Sergios and don't really have any complaints. The prices for the food are very affordable and competitive for the area. I can definitely recommend Sergio's if you are looking for a home cooked style Italian meal in a cozy setting that won't break the bank. I will...
Read moreI don't understand the quasi decent reviews on this place. The foods garbage. The sauce tasted as if it was from a jar off the discount shelf at stop and shop. I tried this place twice to give it the benefit of the doubt. Yeah, apparently I'm a sucker for punishment. First time we ordered two large pies. Do you self a favor, buy a frozen pizza and stay home. Second time, my wife and i got pasta dishes and not only was the pasta over done, but it was cold. Most likely made in the morning and attempted a reheat. Seriously, how do you eff up pasta. It gives you the time required to cook on the back of the damn box. Italian dishes aren't difficult to get right. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she snubbed me off. Really? If I wanted to be unhappy with service with subpar food, I'd have went to McDonald's and asked for a Mc double and a Mc-kick-in-the-nuts. Seriously, save the money, go to a more reputable pizza place. If this review warrants a free pizza to make up for it I'll gladly take the pie and toss it out the car window on dixwell Ave for the homeless. They may be appreciative because I personally don't think flavor, proper prep, or fresh is of...
Read moreGreat prices great pizza! Not that busy around 2 when we went. Lots of indoor seating and some outdoor seating with umbrellas. They are not taking orders at the table anymore so you have to order up at the counter. But they will bring the food to you when it’s done so that works! Portions are huge especially the small “” calzone and the stuffed bread! Prices like i said are really great. And they do offer a personal pizza 10inch! Lots of toppings and lots of speciality pizzas. The mozzarella sticks are the thick long ones they come with four i believe. There are plastic plates and utensils available. Lots of bottle drinks available from a soda fridge, sprites, coke, teas, water etc. Food was overall really delicious. They do out a lot of bacon on the pizza so just be aware of that. The shrimp pesto i was told was really good as well as the eggplant and meatball parm grinder! Ladies were kind and there are two clean bathrooms available! Lots of parking in the back as...
