We were excited to be invited to Freddy J's for a Sunday trivia event. Understanding that its a smaller business, we were able to make a reservations about week before and received a prompt confirmation for our party.
We arrived timely and saw that it was definitely a busy weekend crowd, so were advised that our table would not ready on time, but we should be able to be sat within about 10 min of our reservation time...no problem. We patiently waited for the previous party to leave and then were advised that the table in fact was not ours but for another reservation to which we were told that we would be sat at a different table. After some more confusion and different communication we were told that we could sit there (about 20 min after our reservation time). Although a little frustrated at how we were spoken to by some of the staff, we let it go because at the end of the day we recognize that it was again, a busy weekend crowd.
Although our server was friendly, and came to our table promptly to take our drink orders, the level of service dropped significantly after that. We were told multiple times of items not being available after they were ordered, some our party didn't get their drinks even after 20 minutes and our food did not arrive until more than hour after ordering. Once arrived things were incorrect and the quality of food was left alot to be desired (ie. oversauced, overspiced, undercooked bread items). And in fairness we could have shared our concern but at this point our even was 3/4 of the way done and we were not willing to wait another extended period to get it corrected.
Every business has a bad night, and we get that completely. We do however, take issue that service at the bar was consistent with patrons being able to receive multiple drinks and having a great time while those at your tables were given "afterthought" style service. And to add to this, your business requires us to pay gratuity (which I stress, we support servers and bar staff). We do however see it as an obligation, where we are still required to pay for a level of service that we did not receive.
Extremely disappointed, some of us had to purchase a meal after we left. But even with the frustration and disappointment of this experience, I refuse to give a 1 star rating. Because I truly believe staff deserve a bit of dignity even if that was not given to your patrons. We hope you guys can do better for your customers.
I hope that your business takes this feedback and improve your communication with your staff and set proper expectations for your customers who support your...

We recently returned to the mays landing area after living in Maryland since the pandemic first happened. After moving all day, the last thing we were interested in was cooking and cleaning so we googled a local spot to grab wings and some beers and up came Freddy J’s. This place is TINY but the atmosphere, service, and food is just ginormous. Our server Stephanie was a machine. When we first sat down we were only 1 of 2 tables inside the joint but that very quickly changed. This girl hustled. And I mean hustled! We waited tables throughout college so we tend to pay a little more attention to service than others and we were completely blown away by this young girl. The table next to us had a question about just everything on the menu and not once did she look frustrated or frazzled. We watched her run around that bar a dozen times and the smile never left her face. The teamwork here was amazing as well. The bartenders helped, the manager helped, it was all hands on deck at Freddys which was just awesome to see! They had $5 tacos which looked great but we stuck with wings and beers. stephanie shared with us that they smoke them in house. all of the food was outstanding and really tasted like it was made with love. Trivia was also a blast, and free! with $50 gift card prizes. our only gripe was the blue cheese and ranch tasted bland and nothing special which was so noticeable next to the homemade wings. we are thrilled to have found this little gem so close to home and cant wait for trivia night again. were definitely making it our regular date night. thank you freddys and the entire tuesday team. you truly made our first night...
Read moreWe came here during Atlantic City Restaurant week and we loved it. It doesn't look like much at first, but once you get inside it's a pretty cozy bar and restaurant. The whole place was decorated from top to bottom with eye popping Halloween decor. There was a good crowd there even at 9:00 at night on a Wednesday watching a Phillies game. It's a neat place to watch a game because of the main bar area and the TVs everywhere.
For the prix fixe menu, I ordered the 10 piece wings, meatloaf, and banana cheesecake eggrolls. My friend got the fried shrimp, salmon, and cookie dough lava cake. Even though I ended up with the wrong order of wings (was supposed to be BBQ but got Buffalo!), it was so good I didn't mind at all. In fact, those might actually be the best wings I've ever had. They were very meaty, smoked, and the sauce was better than your average Buffalo sauce. And that was only an appetizer! That dish is big and good enough to be an entree of its own. The main entrees were pretty good too. My meatloaf came jam packed full of food. It also had a corn bread, mashed potatoes, baked beans, and cole slaw. The corn bread was really good because it was topped with cinnamon butter. The dessert with the cookie dough cake was sooo good! The cookie was baked in a muffin stencil so it was a cookie but was also cakey. My favorite dishes are definitely the wings and the cookie cake.
So in short: this place rocked from start to finish. Even if you don't drink it's a fun place to hang out and eat. Our service from Danny was wonderful, she was knowledgable about the area and menu. She even spotted the mistake with the wings before I did but I didn't mind. The food is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. I can whole heartedly...
