UPDATED REVIEW BELOW I’m not sure why I’m rating it a 2 star. Maybe it’s because so many others have found it good, making me feel bad for giving them a 1 star review? Like all restaurants who receive poor reviews from me, this one will get a second chance. If it’s considerably better the second time, I’ll remove this review and replace it with a better one. I ordered Chicken Fried Rice and it was far less than desirable. The taste was terrible and I think I got one (maybe two) penny sized piece of chicken. The rice was so oily that it would have still ruined it even if the taste would have been palatable. I however, I will say that the lady who took my order was very kind and did a good job. Hopefully better luck next time.
Edited: I bought the same thing for my dad and he just told me that he really liked it.
UPDATE I just gave China Wok a second try. This time was better. I ordered Masa Chicken. It apparently had been cooked earlier in the day. However the flavor was OK. Nothing special. There were almost no vegetables as shown in the advertised photos. In fact there was only one that I could see and it was a bell pepper. But again, it wasn’t terrible. Fried rice came with it and I can say it was considerably better than it was in the above review. Yet, it still wasn’t over the top in any way. The service wasn’t good nor bad. She took my card and had me sign and that was about it. Ignoring other peoples raving reviews and not allowing their raves to affect my decision as I did above in my initial review, I’ll their rating up to 3 Stars. I don’t think I’ll be back though.
SECOND UPDATE I’ve gone ahead and gone back a couple of times since my last update. Each time the food is a little bit better. And the last time the service was much better. So I bumped it up to...
Read moreI agree with the reviews here that service is good. But I completely disagree with the prevailing opinion that the quality of the food is good. Ingredients are typical bag frozen restaurant products that are then overcooked and under seasoned. Not that seasoning will improve the taste of frozen institutional boxed restaurant ingredients. As you can tell from my comments, my wife and I were disappointed with the quality of the food. We were traveling from Austin to Dallas for a business meeting and looking forward to trying some local restaurants along the way. My wife ordered the Lemon Chicken which was delivered as a tough over-fried plank sliced into strips with a lemon sauce that tasted completely unlike lemon. No lemon flavor at all and very difficult to chew. I had the Hunan Chicken which turned out to be over-fried breaded chicken chunks in a sauce seasoned too heavily with vinegar. Just mediocre quality ingredients from institutional food service companies that are over-cooked by the restaurant. To repeat, the price and service at China Wok were both good, but the next time we are traveling through Hamilton we will definitely try...
Read moreAbsolutely horrible service Gave my husband and I our Drinks in cups that were so dirty you could scrape the nast sticky grime off of and one of them had a brown ring inside that was not a stain. When I told the lady the cups were dirty she didn't say anything walked off and brought back a bottle dr pepper sat it down didn't say a word and walked off. The lady also was walking around the buffet picking food out with her fingers and eating ot no gloves or anything. The table we sat at was just as gross and sticky eith grime you could also scrape it off and the window we sat at was do dirty with old food and looked as if it had not been cleaned in months. Absolutely horrible place and horrible service $25 for not eating a plate of food I would have never gotten had I seen those cups format and had I seen that lady using her fingers to pick food and put in her mouth I would have never went and...
