My Mom and I came here for breakfast on a Saturday. We came early (about 7:40AM) because the place can get busy abound 8AM to 10AM. If you arrive after 8AM, there's a small waiting period of about 5-10 minutes, sometimes up to 15 minutes at peak hours.
After we had sat down at the counter, we were greeted promptly by the server. She took our drink order, and had that out fast.
The overall experience was great. The food was superb. I had the vegetarian omelet, an English muffin with homemade mixed berry jam, black tea, and homefries. I really liked the tender-crisp vegtables in the omelet, and the homefries were cooked well. The homemade jam was superb. The server was attentive, as I could get her attention if I needed something. The prices are lower then some breakfast places,
I highly recommend this place if you want to support small business, and\or like going out...

And my gosh, we received the friendliest service from the ENTIRE diner staff.
Seriously, if you find yourself in Hampden and hungry or you feel a little soul-sapped, come in here and they will take...

All baked goods and jams are made in house, right down to all of the breads. The rye bread was excellent - cut a little thicker than usual, and fluffy but substantial. The local strawberry rhubarb jam was...
