Great Wall Restaurant — Restaurant in Hampton

Update: May 26, 2020 Decided to give one last try... was the worst 'food' I've had. Boneless ribs were more fat than meat. The beef andgarlic sauce was not edible.

I've been ordering from these guys for 5 years now. They used to be amazingly good. But recently, our last 3 orders, the food has been barely passable. The beef and boneless ribs are fatty & grisly. The vegetables are chopped large, the cook is too lazy to chop into easier bite sized pieces like they used to. Delivery time as always is fantastic too bad it's the food that is the let down.

Overall I get the impression that they are trying to cut costs and going cheaper and easier with their suppliers. It's unfortunate, I'd pay more to get the quality they had...

I have been ordering food from Great Wall for more than 20 years. During that time I have occasionally tried other restaurants in and around Hampton, but I always go back to Great Wall.

That being said, I got an order of their pan fried dumplings (pot stickers) today and I was not happy. I'm not sure if it was a bad batch, or if they changed the filling ingredients recently, but it tasted nothing like their usual product. The meat did not taste like meat at all. Makes me wonder if it was some sort of meat substitute.

As the dumplings are one of my favorite things to order, I may have to start looking elsewhere for...

This place was very very disappointing from the moment I stepped inside, the place had a very bad smell of formaldehyde which was very strong, that made me feel a little nauseated. I had ordered Beef Szechuan with plain white rice. The beef Szechuan was nothing at all like the real thing, but was basically beef with garlic sauce. I've had beef Szechuan a dozen times, in New York, and I know how it is made. I also specified to have it extra hot and spicy, which there was hardly any spice, and paid extra for beef, which they did not add. The food was warm, and the beef was...
