Had a late night craving after working my 2nd job and thought this was the perfect place to try based on the reviews. I was very disappointed in the food quality and price. For 2 pork egg rolls, a small pork fried rice and small chicken broccoli it cost over $21. For that, I recevied two burnt flavorless eggrolls, fried rice that was 40% onion, 50% pork chunks and 1% rice. The chicken broccoli was completely flavorless and dripping in grease. I ate one small sample of each and threw the entire thing away. I am not one to waste food, I'm not one to be overly critical or harsh. The restaurant itself was completely empty in terms of customers inside, just one guy working but he was also playing a video game when I placed my order. The place doesn't even smell like a chinese restaurant. Im assuming the high reviews could be based on the chicken wings or maybe one other dish they just do better than everybody else. I was horrified when I went to wash my hands in the bathroom. Generally, I just a chinese place based on their egg rolls and fried rice. Should have really asked for my money back after I stepped into this bathroom. No paper towels, filthy surfaces, soap with no pump so you have to physically handle the bottle and turn it upside down. Now give this some thought, the people COOKING your food have to visit here to wash their hands. :/ I will...
Read moreokay so, the food is really good. the negative reviews made me nervous but everything we ordered (orange, sesame and bourbon chicken, steamed dumplings & shrimp fried rice) came out right. the steamed dumplings are just normal generic potstickers (like the kind u buy frozen) but the sauce for it is sweet and a little spicy and slightly vinegary (very delicious). everything is sauced generously and flavorful. the shrimp was not overcooked, the fried and white rice all perfect. double check your order and what youre charged for! we ordered just one quart of shrimp fried rice and were given and charged for 2 quarts. we didnt realize until we got home, it was definitely a misunderstanding- too much fried rice isnt really a bad problem to have though.
the portions are very generous! everything is priced fairly in my opinion, except for the dumplings (this will not stop me from ordering them again). my personal fav is the orange chicken. our only complaints are that its super hot in there!! you’ll want to wait in your car or outside. and the containers they use are kinda flimsy, one of the lids wasnt connected right and sauce pooled at the bottom of the bag. worth the mess though, will...
Read moreWARNING !! Be very careful when ordering over the phone they will charge you more than the prices on their menu. My wife called to order food and at the last minute I changed my mind on wanting some so I called back up there myself and added my meal to hers. The lady over the phone gave me a price of $42 and change, it sounded off but I proceeded with the order. The lady then tells me “I added two free egg rolls on to your meal” (red flag) I hung up and decided to call back because my wife said it didn’t sound right to her.
So I call back and ask for a break down of everything and their prices… she named most of the items I had except for the “free egg rolls” and then tells me “I take the free egg rolls off and your price will be $38 plus tax” …
That rubbed me the wrong way I usually go to Ruyi off coliseum (the best in the area IMO) but they were closed.. needless to say I’ll never order from here again.. oh and the food is SUBPAR at best .. but be your own judge.. just make sure YOU KNOW THEIR MENU PRICES … (go inside and ask for one...
