Never did I think I'd be doing a review of a fast-food chain location, but here we are, and for all the good reasons.
This is the best Wendy's location I've been to in my life so far, and I've been in countless Wendy's all over the country and internationally.
The service : excellent. It puts fast back in fast-food. Too many locations by too many brands have gotten lenient over this. At this Wendy's, my order was out before I could fold the receipt into my pocket. When I walked in there was someone at the country ready to take the order, he was prompt and clear. I had almost forgotten why we even call these fastfood until I came to this location.
The food : so with all that speed, did they compromise on the food quality? Absolutely not. The sandwich and fries were served almost picture-perfect. I've only seen that in Japanese chains. Buns smooth, unsquished, and crisp. Sauce plenty but not soaking into everything else. Nothing spilling over or out. I could've shot a commercial with this and it would fly.
The environment : cleanest Wendy's... no, cleanest fast food retail location I have ever seen. Spotless tables, unused chairs all pushed in, clean floor, spotless bathrooms. What black magic they use to manage this, I know not, but it felt great to dine in.
Condiments and utilities : two functional drink machines, napkins fully loaded and correct side facing up, full and functional ketchup dispensers, properly loaded drink cap dispenser, plenty of straws, NO MESS, just... I nearly teared up at the beauty of it all. Too many times did I need to go ask for napkins or have a tug of war with stuck and improperly torn through bunches of napkins, or fruitless pump away at a broken or empty ketchup dispenser... but here, it felt like visiting one of those luxury hotel bathrooms with a bathroom attendant, ready with cologne and toothbrush and everything.
And perhaps greatest of it all, was consistency. I've been to this location during lunch rush, during slow mid afternoon hours, and in very late night drive through, thanks to my work taking me to this area of town often. No matter if it was middle of the night or the busiest rush hour, everything I mentioned above was true. Always.
This is the gold standard of Wendy's franchise retail location, and it should be for any competing...
Read moreMy entire order was wrong! I usually tend to check the bag before I leave, but being in a hurry I didn't this time. I politely called and asked for a supervisor, a lady got on the phone saying she was the shift supervisor. I asked "Can I have your name please, I'd like to know who I'm speaking with". She replied "you're speaking with the supervisor, why do you need my name". I then, asked for her supervisor she stated she didn't have one (yeah right)!. I ended up having to drive all the way back to this TERRIBLE Wendy's to get my order replaced as the "supervisor" said she would do over the phone. Once I arrived, she stated she's only allowed to replace up to 3 items on the receipt despite the fact that I ordered 12 items for my family (original order was ALL WRONG). I asked for the store manager, she stated "she was not in at the moment" . Funny, 10 minutes ago she stated she didn't have a supervisor. I ended up asking another employee for the name of this rude supervisor who still had not produce her name. Her name is OLGA. Finally, the next day I spoke with the store manager who was almost as rude as the last "manager" this woman being named Anna. Overall, WORSE SERVICE EVER. I truly regret spending my money at this Wendy's location. Next time, I will cross the street and purchase...
Read moreThis is a great place to eat.
First of all, you get your money worth of food. If you order a large drink, it's like being handed a bucket. Portions are plentiful.
Next, the food is generally delicious and hot. My son is picky but he loves this Wendy's! Great chili, burgers and salads.
They run the drive through with efficiency to get you in, out and away.
The facility is modern, well maintained and very clean.
It's easy to spot, right on 20 across from Danny's and right next to the extended stay hotel which is very convenient. It's about 30 seconds east of the Elgin Ohare Lake Street exit, perfect for grabbing a very affordable bite to eat after getting fleeced on the tollway. Drown your toll way sorrows in a classic single with a huge drink and a large fry! Do it, you will feel so much better.
Lastly, it's Wendy's. They are a great company, and one of the largest pro adoption corporations. They have regular nights where proceeds go to support the adoption charity.
So what are you waiting for? Come by and fill...
