My Cocina Grill — Restaurant in Hanover Township

It's one of those days when I don't want to cook and just want to relax; I feel like I deserve it after such a busy week.

I want to explore a new Mexican restaurant because I have a taste for it and I'm feeling spontaneous. I chose this restaurant since it has good reviews and an intriguing menu.

I used the Uber Eats app to get takeout. The service was so efficient that the food was ready in 20-25 minutes.

When I retrieved the meal, I had a brief look around the restaurant. There is lots of seating, including booths and tables, and there is a lovely long bar. I regret not dining there. I don’t mind a glass of Margarita.

I'm impressed at how they packed the food because the meals were still warm when I arrived home. They were considerate enough to serve sour cream and guacamole on the side to keep the dish from becoming soggy.

The fajita bowl was tasty. The brilliant hues are enhanced by the use of fresh vegetable ingredients. The pulled chicken was well-seasoned and cooked welled so it wasn’t dry.

The quesadilla was straightforward but wonderful. The tortilla was perfectly toasted, giving it a perfect crust. The chicken-to-cheese ratio is beautifully balanced.

The steak burrito is a safe bet that will not disappoint. It's tasty and savory, with fresh ingredients that add a lovely texture.

I believed I'd discovered my new favorite Mexican restaurant. I'm looking forward to experience their dine-in services. Thank you...

Update (9/17/25): Still love this place, dined in today and very packed for a Wednesday night - which was great to see! Very attentive staff, super clean (huge plus Fabuloso smelling bathroom area). Food and drinks were delicious: today I highly recommend the $1 Wings 😍, Shrimp Diablo, the Agua de Nopal, Chips and Salsa were free and great, Tacos all good (Chicken tinga, pastor, and mahi mahi), Agua de Horchata, and the seasonal special "Apple Pie Burrito" 🌯 🍎🥧 (didn't expect the combo but was exquisite 🤤).

Original (2023): I love My Cocina! Highly recommend the shrimp Mac and Cheese. We recently moved to the area and this was one of our first pickup picks and was phenomenal as take out. Somehow we've yet to dine in but ordered for pickup/ delivery and it's been amazing every single time!!! 👏 Usually we devour the food before we get to take a picture or review. This last order we had the shrimp mac and cheese with 4 tacos, 2 al pastor, 1 carnitas, 1 chicken. All great! Loved the salsa. I'm usually anti pineapple on the pastor but these were great with it

After eating dinner at My Cocina my wife and I were very impressed and decided to move forward with them as our wedding caterer earlier this year. We originally planned on a 200-person wedding but due to COVID were only able to have 50 guests. Jeff, was more than accommodating with all of the changes needed beforehand and was very responsive to any questions we had. For appetizers we had bacon wrapped shrimp with chipotle crema, elotes and vegetable flatbreads, all were fantastic! The shrimp was a crowd favorite and the quality of the shrimp itself was remarkable. The appetizers were butler-passed and service was excellent. For dinner we had build-your-own fajitas with chicken and al pastor pork. Jeff even provided my wife and I with our favorite sauces from the restaurant in addition to our selections for guests. The food was extraordinary and after talking to our guests, they all agreed. All in all, My Cocina is not only a phenomenal restaurant, but also an excellent full-service caterer.
