Damien's — Restaurant in Hanson

I love the pizza here, but the service was horrible the last time I went. Allow me to explain. I entered around 8:45 AM on a Sunday morning. I was craving pizza after a long night of lurking. I knocked on the window for probably an hour before someone answered. I asked politely for a scrumptious cheese pizza, only to be answered with a lethal weapon in my face. I was stunned, to say the least. The employee was a woman who looked to be in her mid 40s. She turned and yelled to someone inside before telling me to leave, slamming the door in my face. Accepting defeat. I turned around to leave, only to find myself cornered in the parking lot by the employees of this establishment. I realized they meant to do me harm, so I pulled out my trusty switchblade and prepared to defend myself. But before I could moved the employee who answered the door was behind me and rapidly stabbing me. I was helpless. They all started shrieking and squawking like animals and dancing around in a circle. At that point I had lost a lot of blood and I passed out. When I awoke, DAMIEN himself was standing over me, chuckling about some silly Dave Portnick or something. He sneered at me, large and sweaty, greasy as an old meatball in the fryer. He chuckled again, like a little child, and raised his shirt to show me his nipples. He then bent down even slower. He reached my eye level. His smiled widened as he thrust his hairy and quite large breast into my face. I screamed and squealed the entire time. But the things he did to me I will never forget, nor will I forgive them. But life goes forward. People are born and people die. Time waits for nobody, not even God himself. And with this lesson comes knowledge. Do not go to Damien’s in Hanson when they are not open. Unfortunately, I want to give this establishment fewer stars, but due to format, I will give current ratings. Now, I have visited since the year 2021 a number of 6 times. And the food and service was great. Now, unfortunately, this most recent visit on 12/26/23 has completely made up my mind to no longer visit. Now, I first I called ahead to check the timing of food and drink service. Being that I was allowed to call ahead for pizzas till 10pm and be serviced drinks in the establishment till midnight was the contender as to why to attend. As I arrived at 10:03 p.m., I was told I may pay for my pizzas but NOT be Welcomed to buy drinks due my IDENTIFICATION Being from California and not Massachusetts. I have visited many times before. And being from California has never been an issue with management or the Owner themselves. I was discriminated and lied to, saying that it is "Massachusetts State LAW" that I should not be served due to an "Out of state ID". As good as the food and other associates have been to me, we can not allow such Discrimination and Belittlement. This Has been a family get-together spot for my significant other for over 20 years. This experience has now sadly dampened what was a special place, to a business that is very comfortable spreading misinformation and openly making discriminating choices. Great experience today 07/31/21 @ Damien's 279 Spring St, Hanson, MA 02341 I first tried this place for it's pizza witch BTW was very good. On that day I got an order of Chicken hors d'oeuvres with surpreem sauce to go and they were amazing. So today we decided to give the sit-down restaurant menu a try and we were not disappointed. We ordered the Chicken supreme app again, crispy, fresh and flavorful Chicken with hands down the best sauce I have ever had. A side of steak fries, crispy and delicious. My wife loved it so much that she ordered more for her main course. She got the Chicken surpreem with potatoes and carrots. Real potatoes and with the sauce were amazing. I ordered a special Damian's Trio that came with steak tips Bourbon Turkey tips and grilled chicken with peppers, onions and mushrooms. The steak was cooked to a perfect medium, the chicken was moist with a great frilled flavor but the star of the show was without question the Bourbon Turkey Tips again moist with the most amazing flavor. Fast friendly service, great atmosphere. I highly recommend coming here. This is a bar with additional seating so it may not be the best for families at all timed however when we went 1"ish" on Saturday the clientele were reserved and appropriate for families.
