Drane’s Kurve Inn — Restaurant in Hardinsburg

I hate leaving poor reviews on small/local businesses… however, the service was unacceptable. Completely honest opinion: the food was hit or miss. Some of it was pretty good, some was not that great, some was average. For example: pretty good French toast, not that great/average mashed potatoes. The potatoes tasted like instant potatoes, specifically like the kind you have in school. The atmosphere is interesting. It’s cute, homey, and southern. However, foldable chairs and tables are kinda, well, cheap, but I can overlook that. I think some table cloths and/or table decorations would really amp up the place. Now, the real issue I had was them messing up multiple orders. I ordered a CHEESE quesadilla, the waitress then asked me, “do you want any meat on it?” I told her that no I didn’t and that I just wanted a cheese quesadilla… she said, “okay.” My SIL got some sort of chicken salad and asked for no tomatoes… We ordered a pancake for my 4yo son… and his grandmother (who has been here before, my husband and I hadn’t) makes sure to ask, “uhhh, is it gonna be one of those big ones?,” to which the waitress replied and said they could make it small… so we went with that. For my 2yo daughter we got French toast and bacon… For dessert, I ordered a dirt pudding.

Well, my cheese quesadilla was a chicken and cheese quesadilla. My SIL’s salad had tomatoes. My son’s pancake was GINORMOUS. They brought out my husbands French toast, which we initially thought was my daughter’s but it didn’t have bacon, so they told us the next one would, then brought out the next plate of French toast, it didn’t have bacon. We had to ask about the bacon again and she was like, “it’s still cooking,” even though she just told us it would be with the second plate of French toast. Oh by the way, they brought all the food separately.. one or two of us get a plate, wait a few to several minutes for the next one or two of us to get a plate, eventually we all had our plates except my SIL. Then she got hers while my quesadilla was being taken back. When they brought me my cheese quesadilla, they had apparently ran out of large tortillas, so it was four small ones and that was fine, they said they were making a few more, to which I said not to worry about, the four were plenty/just fine. My dirt pudding never shows.. they told me I would be getting their last one… I had made sure to order it when we ordered all our other food. We’ve all finished and are cleaning up after ourselves somewhat, stacking plates and whatnot, and I have my husband go ask about my dirt pudding, he comes back and tells me they’re making it/getting it for me right now… so, everyone else walks out the door, I stand there waiting, because I don’t want them to make it for nothing…and since it’s closing time (2:00 or 2:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday) they’re all just standing there looking at me funny and eventually one asks if they can help me, and I say that I was waiting on my dirt pudding that I ordered, my husband had just asked about it and was told that y’all were making it… they tell me no, they’re out. So, I leave, feeling very awkward and embarrassed.

I know several of the things I mentioned are small problems, but so many small problems start to add up.

So, to the owner, get some table decorations and get some...

Waitress passed me twice so I got up and helped myself to silverware and menu. Long story short, I ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Plate arrived with no gravy to put on my very dried potatoes. I was told I had to ask for it!! What?! Gravy arrived, salt and peppered everything, liberally, took one bite of each and found all to be horrible. No amount of salt and pepper was going to help, I left without finishing my meal. Restaurant staff was apathetic to my complaints. Paid $13.00 for uneaten food. Do not recommend Drane's Kurvy Inn (New name) to anyone with the least bit of discerning taste. I usually love coming here but we got there about 1:45 ordered our food and she said she would see if the fryers were still on they were but the grill has been turned off my husband wanted a CB she said it would be about 15 min for the grill to heat up we decided to just go somewhere else I ask her for a to go cup we had only taken maybe 2 drinks of it once we said we were leaving she got an attitude and walked away so I left the to go cups on the table and headed to the door she stood at the cash register yelling guess your not gonna pay for anything ridiculous I just kept walking I wasn't paying for drinks I didn't drink period it's a shame to cuz me and my husband come here all the time I always get the stuffed pork loin it's delicious thanks for ruining that for...
