If the owner isn’t there, it’s not worth going anymore. Whether we go in to sit down or bring our food home, something is always wrong. Most of the time we like to bring our food home because we don’t like crowded areas and the lady and the one guy who take the orders over the phone either don’t listen or just straight up doesn’t care. Either way, both of them always write down the order wrong. This time it was the dude. We ordered a steak sizzling skillet and 2 tacos. It took about 20-30 minutes to get it and my husband came back home. I truly don’t know how you mess up such a small order. Daughter’s tacos were fine and she started eating. Then come to find out we were given the wrong thing for us. This isn’t the first time so we were frustrated enough to take it back this time. Everything is too expensive to not get what we asked and paid for. I was the one to take it back and I didn’t return home for another hour. For one sizzling skillet. The customer service used to be phenomenal. The food used to be delicious. They at least acted like they cared about you. And i know it’s a restaurant and I don’t expect them to actually care, but at least care about the service you provide your customers and the quality of food. Some of us have been going since before el cants became popular. And then when we go inside to eat, the waiter will take our order, bring our food and drinks, and then we never see her again. So it’s always a waste for my husband to order the all you can eat because once he finishes, they never come back to replace the plate, refill the drinks, or anything else we need. It’s honestly unfortunate because we never expected el cants of all places to turn out like this. If you’re wondering why we kept going after all the wrong things, it’s because we were always hoping it was just a fluke or something and it would resolve itself. But no, it looks like old el cants, who was known for their excellent customer...
Read moreWe went to El Cantarito Mexican Restaurant, Harriman, TN on Saturday night. We were hoping to go earlier but it was not in the cards for us. My Girlfriend ordered the Ground Beef Chimichangas and I ordered the Pollo Primavera Full Shrimp. My Girlfriend got a Virgin Pina Coloda & Water to drink whereas I ordered a Sweet Tea. The Drinks came almost immediately after order and the food was shortly there-after. Literally 5 minutes after we ordered the food, the food was at our Table. I am on a High Protein Diet and they were able to accommodate for my needs. The food was most excellent and the service was exceptional as well. Their store is clean, plenty of parking including Handicap spaces, Wheelchair accessible as well, and The Staff are friendly & helpful.
In Addition to my review. I cannot figure this out but my faith in humanity was renewed that this restaurant. Let me explain; After we finished our meal, my Girlfriend ordered addition food to take home to the kids. When the nice lady brought the food all bagged up to the Table, she brought the check for the additional food. I asked her for the check for our meal, she said that someone anonymously paid for our dinner. She said that there was not check for our meal. I was shocked but thankful as well.
To the Patron who covered our Meal, I want to thank you for it. I will give back as well to the next person so that kindness that you showed to us is shared...
Read moreI'm going to start this off by saying we usually go to Los primos my husband likes the molcajete, but lately their service hasn't been great so we decided to try El cantarito. It didn't seem super busy but it was Mother's Day so I assume that it had been really busy earlier.
We were seated and at first it seemed good, our orders were taken promptly our drinks came out quickly and the nachos for good. My husband ordered all you can eat tacos, and when the food came out some of his was missing but they said more was coming so he ate what he had, they came over and asked if it was good. Took his empty dishes and he sat there with nothing in front of him while the rest of us ate our food. He finished his drink, and no more came, no offer of a refill, no offer of more of his all you can eat taco dinner.
They weren't busy at the time, there was two or three other tables in our section. I really wanted to like this restaurant it seems like it's usually busy but it wasn't great, the food was okay my portion sizes were huge so maybe that's why 🤷♀️
So our search for a new Mexican...
