As a born native of Roane County, I can assure that there are very few places as timeless as the restored Princess Theatre. Think 1920's meets small town USA. This facility has it all. Notalgic allure - check. Event space of your dream party or gathering - check, check. Amiable and kind hosts that make sure your event is a success - bell's ringing for all the angels to get their wings. I have been here for concerts, parties, and community events such as the free showing of "It's a Wonderful Life." I will say there is nothing quite as exciting as watching that movie on a big screen. So, 10/10 as far as entertainment and community outreach for the great RoCo area. :D

The Princess Theatre is a fantastic venue! In November of 2019 I attended the Dixie Lee Day celebration where a Tennessee State Historical Marker was unveiled in nearby Walnut Hill, where she was born. We were treated to a wonderful showing of Harriman’s hometown girl’s film, Love in Bloom (1935). The theatre has been restored beautifully and is an East Tennessee gem! Check it out!

This theater always makes me nostalgic, as I watched many a movie here when growing up. Now, it's used more for live entertainment, which is also great. I accompanied my dad to see a Grand Ole Opry legend perform, and it was a great night. My favorite part was sitting up in the balcony. You don't often find grand old theaters like this that have been so well preserved.

The princess theatre has been a landmark in Harriman for 40 years. They used to show movies then it closed down and sat empty for many years. About five years ago the city of Harriman and Roans state community college got together and remodeled it and reopened it, but the problem is that they only have programs from Roane state they do not show movies which I think...
