As a Southern California native, finding truly authentic Mexican food has been a challenge here in Central PA. Missing home, my husband and I decided to explore our options in Harrisburg. We decided on Tacos Mi Tierra, and I am so glad we did!
The menu is straightforward, the prices just right, the portions amazing, and the flavors were EXACTLY what I’ve been craving. Their salsa selections were fantastic, most actually have a kick to them, and they each have their own distinct flavor profile (as a salsa should!).
I ordered a carnitas burrito and a Coke (REAL coke), and my husband ordered 4 carnitas tacos. The tortillas were perfect (his were corn, mine was flour), the meat was exactly what I wanted, and the portions were incredibly generous. We had enough to eat quickly until we weren’t as ravenous and then had plenty left to slowly savor and share.
We are already planning our next visit, and we will be telling EVERYONE we know about this gem.
Thank you for bringing home a little closer,...
Read moreThis is hands down, my favorite taco shop in the whole city. I've been coming here for almost 8 years and the food keeps getting better. I go to the gym, and immediately straight to Tacos Mi Tierra for tacos. The Burritos are massive. Dont be fooled by the fascade, or the neighborhood. It's nothing fancy, but it's humble and authentic. The whole community comes here, regardless of race, creed or language spoken, it is what makes Allison Hill one of my favorite places I've ever lived in. There are multiple Mexican restaurants on the Hill but this is the only place I come for tacos. Sometimes it is the simplicity of the ingredients that makes it phenomenal, it is real comfort food. It's about $2.50 per taco and I legitimately spend $80-100 a week here. The owners and employees are always helping to feed the less fortunate in my neighbor-hood, they rarely turn anyone away who is hungry. Tacos Mi Tierra is a hidden gem, and this community wouldn't be the same...
Read moreOkay so today I was crazing tacos. So I googled and found this place. After looking at the menu I decided what I wanted and my boyfriend saw one of the cooks remove a plate from a table (assuming it was the wrong order) my boyfriend saw the plate and thought “wow” thoes fajitas look amazing. He asked the cook what kind it was and he said shrimp fajitas. My boyfriend decided to order that meal. I ordered tacos and a quesadilla. My food was pretty good. But we noticed how fast everything came out......They gave my boyfriend the same plate that they removed from someone else’s table!!!!!! His food was soooooo cold. So this was what had obviously happened. We thought that was so disgusting and rude of them to give him the same plate that was removed from a different customer . On top of that his fajitas barely had any flavor. We will certainly not go back there. They clearly don’t care about how they treat their customers. Im disappointed in what happened to my...
