Got to have a sampling of Market Street Grille at this year's Taste of Cincinnati, and we loved it! When your pregnant wife is on a mission to get some crab cakes, you don't mess around. She took one look at what Market Street was dishing out, and said - "yup, come to mama!" Hot, crispy, lots of crab, a great crunch to them, and the lobster mayo was fantastic. From their menu: CRISP FRIED MARYLAND CRAB CAKES Tender crab cake cooked golden brown and served with fresh cucumber noodles and red chili lobster mayonnaise. When you walk the entire row of Taste of Cincinnati, and your wife doesn't want to buy anything else. She just wants a second helping of crab cakes from Market Street, then you know they are doing something right. The people were friendly, and my only regret is that Harrison is so far away from us in Northern Kentucky. But, if we're ever out that way, you can be sure this place is on my list.

What an awesome find in such a small town. The atmosphere is awesome. So inviting and charming. We would welcome it back home in the city. We got a table immediately but we didn't arrive until after 8pm so that might have helped. The service was excellent. Friendly, helpful and eager to make sure we were pleased. My Prime rib was ordered medium rare and it came out medium. Not almost medium rare. They could work on their plating. For such a nice looking place I would make sure I was sending out plates that looked nice. My Prime rib was thrown on top of my potatoes and the au jus was spilled everywhere. Outside of this, the place offered a romantic evening if that was what you were after, or a nice place to celebrate with friends, or just grab a bite as you pass through.

We are from Indiana and we visited Cincinnati zoo. On the way out we wanted to try a place to eat that we hadn’t been to. This restaurant is amazing ! It’s got kinda an old school diner vibe inside. The customer service is amazing we were seated quickly and our order was perfect. The food was delicious!!! I am Somewhat of a cook myself and i was very pleased with the way the food was cooked and presented. I ordered a burger and asked for it medium rare and it was cooked perfectly! If you asked me to find something i didn’t like about this place I couldn’t pick a thing. Thanks for a great experience we will visit again.

I have actually never written a negative review. I worked in food service my entire life before becoming a critical care nurse, which has given me great patience with the service industry. I understand that things don't always go well, and sometimes we are busy, but our job is to always be kind and do what we are there to do.

That being said, my friends made a reservation here and, having a dietary restriction, I checked the menu and the internet to find what I could order. I had a couple dishes in mind, but couldn't be assured they were OK for me to eat. I called the restaurant a couple hours before our reservation to confirm. Since the Market Street Grille website boasts made-from-scratch food, I suspected it would be an easy call.

I briefly shared my restriction with the hostess, who told me she would check and asked me to hold, please. Another women answered and said

hello, ma'am, you can check out our menu online.

I explained quickly that I had checked out the menu, but sometimes sauces are made with unusual ingredients. That I wasn't picky, but just wanted to make sure.

She followed up by telling me that "ma'am. [she had] a long line at the door, and that the menu is online."

Disappointed, we had no other choice but to cancel our reservation. From fast food to fine dining, I have never spoken with someone who received me the way this employee did.

Because it looks like a great restaurant, here are some ways other places respond:

"Absolutely. I'm actually not sure, but let me check on that for you. May I take a number and call you back within the half hour?" "Thanks for choosing us. Let me check with the kitchen staff." "People with that restriction typically eat [xyz]." "Ooo let me check."

Alternatively, it might be helpful to briefly teach the staff some options for those with the most common restrictions.

There is no reason to make a customer feel like an inconvenience. I...

Google really need to allow zero stars. Tonight was my first and last experience at Market Street Grill. We had made a reservation and then upon arrival had to wait 20+ minutes for our table. The Host was very polite and told us that this happens because they double book tables. Great! When our table was ready we were seated by the host who was 1 of the 2 people in the restaurant wearing a mask. Our waitress was the other. We were given our water by someone not wearing a mask which we weren't happy about. We decided to order a few drinks before dinner and then noticed the bartender not wearing a mask either. I can only assume none of the other kitchen staff were either. We decided to leave and left our drinks and paid our waitress for them on the way out. My guess is that if the staff doesn't think the simple task of wearing a mask is important to public safety then they probably aren't taking other precautions either. Also since none of the patrons that entered or left the place wore one, they didn't seem concerned either. Not how I planned my evening to go but we ended up at one of our favorite places in downtown Cincinnati. Butcher and Barrel. I really had hoped this would become a local place for us to enjoy in our new hometown of...

Good food great waitresses but the owner is too concerned about getting the next customer seated. Reservations for the party room were made 4 weeks in advanced for our grandma's 90. We made them for 5:00 to close in the back room. Was called the week of the party and was told that we could only have the room till 7:30 because they wanted to seat other people in the back room after that time. We arrived on time but the last person in our group did not receive their food until 7:00. At 7:15 we over heard the owner telling our servers to get us out of there now. From that point on we were rudely rushed and the waitresses were being pushed by the own to make us leave. When we confronted the owner about why we were being pushed out on to the street she attempted to tell us that she was being yelled at by somebody and that she was just the manager. She finally confessed to us that they did not just want to seat other guest in the back room after our party but that they had booked a second party in the back room after us when she told us that originally had the room for the whole night. The owner is a little concerned with over booking her parties instead of showing her customers respect and trying to get her patrons to return ever again. We will...
