We came almost one year ago to the day and had the best experience, best steak and all around best vibe we’ve ever had. We thought we found our spot (it’s literally .3 miles away from home.) However, the past 2 experiences have been awful (lunch) we decided to try dinner again as it’s been a long year since our first and BEST visit with TallGrass. They’ve replaced their $44 menu priced ribeye with pork steak. As of June 7, 2025. I will never return. First off, we ordered an appetizer, shrimp cocktail, easy enough? No. We never received it. Once we brought it up to the server she offered to COMP IT and send it Togo with us. They continued to overcooked my plate, TWICE. I overheard the “chef” or the lead cook say “do they want their steak to go too?” The poor sever. I’ve never in my life been the one to send a plate back or complain. But wow, at this point, I had to. Honestly I don’t know what happened to Tall Grass in just a short year but they’ve really lost their touch. Absolutely atrocious experience our past few visits. I paid $100 and didn’t eat. $100 for 4 drinks and a shrimp scampi. Pathetic. And what a professional response from the owner lol. You weren’t busy at all. If you can’t handle cooking for 10 tables, maybe hire more help. Someone who can cook a steak for starters. Also, I never refused to pay for ANYTHING. Read moreWonderful food although I didn’t get what I ordered and I repeated it twice. I would had liked to eat what I drove an hour for. I still ate it I can only imagine the rudeness if I asked for what I ordered. We’re from Kansas City and drove from Branson to eat here. The lady that took our order I guess assumed we’d been there before. No help at all. We just stood there waiting to be seated. Finally figured out you order then sit down. I asked fir ice water and she held up her water bottle and says is this good or do you want actual ice in the glass. I didn’t see her water sitting there and like I said never been there. Just the time alone was rude. I’m assuming this place welcomes locals only. I frequent the area and I will not be back. And will share my experience. When we were looking at coffee she sighed, I spent a whole 45 seconds looking. Really upset her for some reason ... not one person on line behind us ?? I have no idea why the rudeness. So I just ordered milk. I really would liked coffee and what food I ordered.
When you work customer service and having a bad day don’t take it out of customers. You never know who that customer may be.
I felt very uncomfortable. Again assuming only locals are welcome.
The food again was a 5 star. The service isn’t even a 1
The store side was amazing. We bought some things and the owner was helpful. I got her info to purchase somethings.

Read morethe worst restaurant we have ever tried in harrison. the food was okay, we only got the turkey club and fries with a few drinks. the fries were soggy, we took them home to re cook because they have potential but it just wasn’t there. our server didn’t listen what-so-ever. she had to come back to ask what drink we wanted when I told her the exact drink on the rocks. Then the turkey club I subbed the chips with fries, she didn’t tell us it was an up charge, even if the menu says so she needs to repeat it to the customer. So we got charged the $4 for added on fries then didn’t get a side salad or chips, so it’s just frustrating that she doesn’t know how to take orders or talk to customers. Then she brings us the check and asks if she could take the card or if we would pay at the register, we say we will pay at the register, as we are standing at the register the 2 workers say “have a great day” I then say “We haven’t paid yet” and the one just stares at us.. so yes we just left because they don’t even care to acknowledge us at the register.. it was just a bad experience all together, will never recommend to anyone. and i know I will probably get an automated response saying “oh sorry we just re-opened the inside” well maybe close it back down and just do delivery or drive thru because the workers are not cut out...
