Valley Lunch Box — Restaurant in Harrisonburg

What a great little spot. On our way to Wintergreen, we wanted a quick stop for lunch and wanted it to be easy with our dog and kids in tow. I quickly searched Google and am thankful for the on the spot recommendations! Perfect pit stop for a doggy potty break and to stretch our legs. Appreciated the umbrella covered table and chairs. Now the food…. Delicious! I opted for the torta with spicy pineapple pork. It was the best I have ever had. The combination of sauces and flavors were on point and the bread was really good- many times that’s where places skimp but not here. We also got the cheeseburger, hotdog, fries, and burrito and all were consumed and given two thumbs up! What a great spot right off...

Nice combination of the two most vital food groups: comida mexicana and burgers.

Prices are on par with or slightly better than most of the food trucks in Harrisonburg, but the serving size compared to the top trucks like Tacomex and Tacos El Primo is much smaller, with a lot of lettuce-as-filler happening. So it's similar to La Morena in that way.

The overall quality and quick service make this a worthwhile stop, and the location/parking is amazing if you're traveling via Route 11.

Oddly enough Valley Lunch Box may only be the 5th best Mexican spot in Harrisonburg, but is perhaps the 3rd best...

We are visiting the area and we’re looking for a place to grab a quick dinner to go and wanted somewhere local-decided to try this place. We were not disappointed. We had a burrito and tacos along with some fries and everything was excellent. The street tacos are not very large even for street tacos so maybe get one extra than you’d normally get plus they are so delicious-I wish I had ordered one more!
