The Pickle Lounge and Northside Lanes — Restaurant in Hartford City

Let me start by saying I have always loved the pickle lounge. But, today I took my mom and wife there for mothers day lunch. We have never been so disappointed. We arrived around noon, so it wasn't late. Salad bar had lettuce and dressing on it that was it. Out of everything else. We got to the buffet. Same thing, out of almost everything. The service was nonexistent. Had to ask for silverware, than we just got a fork. Had to go tell them we needed drinks. The tables on either side of us were getting service. Friendly hometown spot. Large menu with a lot of options. They seem to have a steady group of lunch regulars. Evening hours are inconsistent, I once arrived at 6:30 for dinner and they were already closing down for the night. Food is decent, portions are filling yet not overly large, you may want to add a side. Most of the menu is bar food or variations thereof. Right amount of flavor and spice. We stopped in here with a party of 9 during lunch hour. There was only two ladies working but the wait wasn't horribly bad. Food was good.i got the Buffalo sandwich which was very good. Onion rings were the best. A few ppl got the breaded tenderloin which they said had great flavor but was very hard. But they ate it. My daughter had the breakfast and said it was good.
