My family had friends over for pizza last night and I was super excited for them to try Sorrentos. Once a month or so I make the drive from Shirley to Harvard for their style pizza and this recent order was just not the quality I expect when paying $125.60 plus a $20.00 tip, not delivered. I pick up and still tip. When I arrived the food was not ready, no problem, it’s a hot Friday afternoon, I understand. Until I arrive home and was embarrassed at all the hype and praise I had bragged about best pizza in the county. I am familiar with how brick ovens work, but there is no reason for 4 pizzas to be so burnt that the odor lingered in my car. The crust was not even edible. We had to cut an inch to two inches of the black crackling burnt crust flakes. Opening the boxes you could only smell charred charcoal stench. The Hawaiian style pizza was absolutely horrid. The center was mushy and very soggy, the sauce was watery and lacked the tomato flavor, the pineapples were blah, zero flavor and not the usual bold yellow color. The steak tip pizza, was hard, like it had been sitting awhile, then reheated, then burnt tossed in a box waiting god knows how long. I believe in giving people the chance to make things right before going public with negative comments. I called Sorrentos in Harvard last night, 6:30ish. I was told to call this morning. Which I did. I left name and number. Was hoping for a call back. Nothing yet!! I was not driving back to the restaurant last night, I had to order from our go to local take out last minute, they were able to make the large order and deliver it right to us. When your claiming to serve high end pizza at $28 a pie, stand by the product and don’t send out charcoal dust crust. I am really angry I spent so much money for horrible food, then had to buy something else, I am disappointed in the lack of attempt to resolve the issue and make up for serving low quality freezer equivalent pizza for outrageous prices. Read moreI'm not one to just give out a bad review, I try and give people the benefit of the doubt, people make mistakes. However, our trip to sorrentos today was disappointing, to say the least. We went in and ordered two pizzas and paid right away. About ten minutes later they told us our pizza was ready. We wondered why it was only one of them but thinking the other would be coming out shortly after. Finally about 7 minutes later we went up and asked about the other pizza and the cooks had no idea about it. We told then what it was and then they started to make it. They asked the lady at the register who cashed us out and she said, "I have no idea" with a bunch of attitude. Our pizza came out about 7 minutes later and they put it on the counter and didnt even tell us it was ready, luckily we were watching for it as half of our party was hungry and waiting to eat. The pizza was good, except they forgot one of the ingredients that we asked for and paid for. They never apologized or gave us a discount. They even gave us a hard time when I knocked on the men's room door for my handicapped father to use the bathroom. There was an employee in there who hadn't said a word when my father was knocking., then came out gave me a dirty look and pointed at the women's room. I said I know I'm knocking for my father. Read moreOrdered 2 Buffalo chicken subs and in the special descriptions I wrote down what I wanted on each of them. One with lettuce tomatoes etc, but the other no veggies and extra blue cheese. One of the sandwiches came out correctly but the one with no lettuce and tomatoes came out with lettuce and tomatoes and no blue cheese. So I went back inside showed them my receipt with the description of the correct order asking them to kindly take it back and remake it and they were the rudest staff arguing with me about my description and what I wanted on MY sub. Very unprofessional and they clearly don’t pay attention to the special descriptions on online orders. Don’t argue with customers when you didn’t give me what I ordered. I gave this a 2 stars only because the sandwiches are really good but the staff is rude and unprofessional. It was on a Sunday too when they were not busy at all and all the sub had on it was blue cheese and chicken... not that hard to make. Not to mention I paid online and tipped them 20% (which I wish I could take back) to be rude and loud to me when I kindly asked for the sandwich I ordered.
