Review for The Dive Dine & Drink – 5 Stars We’ve now been to The Dive twice, and both visits left us impressed. The recent renovations are beautiful, and on our first trip, we dined on the porch—which was quiet, comfortable, and a perfect spot to relax. Our server, Missiy, was absolutely excellent—friendly, attentive, and informative.
Before our visit, I’d seen some troubling reviews about the scallop dinner, including claims of food poisoning. I asked Missiy directly if the scallops might “kill me” (half-jokingly), and she reassured me that those reviews were inaccurate and had been addressed by the owner. So, I took the plunge—and I’m glad I did. The scallop dinner was one of the best I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked, fresh, and elevated by a truly delicious sauce that pulled everything together.
We enjoyed it so much, we returned five days later. This time, the place was packed, so we sat at the bar. The scallop dinner was still very good, but I was a little disappointed it came without the standout sauce from our first visit. (I’ll ask for it next time!) Be warned—the indoor dining area is very loud when full, but the service was still top-notch even with the crowd.
Parking can be a bit tight, but that’s a small inconvenience for what’s become one of our new favorite spots. We’ll definitely be...
Read moreSo this was some of the worst food I’ve had in a while. The menu seemed fantastic and we were excited. We ordered the lettuce wraps to start - the description again sounded amazing. What you get is pulverized shredded cold chicken. Flavor was fine but the chicken itself… not fine. Moving on to our mains. I ordered the summer girl peach salad. Again a delicious sounding item - only to arrive with what appeared to be bagged lettuce (the one that comes with the carrots) and hard not ripened cubes of white peach. Not good, I didn’t eat it and I told them it wasn’t good as well. My husband ordered the chicken piccata. The chicken was cooked well but the sauce itself was actually abysmal. It was bitter and tasted nothing like piccata. The pasta was also over cooked. The cherry on top was the end… when the waiter asked if we didn’t like our food bc I ate about 20% of the salad and my husband hardly touched the pasta. My husband was very polite but did point out the issue with the pasta sauce. Someone else came to talk to us, we encouraged him to try the sauce. He took away our dishes and when we received the bill there were no concessions made (why I gave service 1 star) - leaving an even worst taste in our mouth to this dining experience. Will not return and would...
Read moreMy husband and I had dinner at Dive this past week. The renovation looks great with a nautical theme and outdoor seating. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. Our waitress, Ally was charming. The inside was quite loud, so we opted for a table outside. While we enjoyed sitting on the porch, the food left us disappointed. My husband ordered a salad with chicken. The salad was prepared with fresh vegetables but lacked flavor. He added chicken to the salad and received two small skewered chicken strips at a cost of $15. At that price, a more generous serving would be expected. I ordered the Island Style swordfish. The swordfish was also on skewers and was quite thin, which lead it to being overcooked and quite dry. The presentation was very basic. Overall, the food left us unimpressed. We realize that Dive just opened and it may take some time to get their bearings, but we will wait a while before returning. We hope that they work out the kinks and are successful, since good restaurants are always a good addition...
