First time my wife and I came to the Cape Cod area. We were staying in Chatham and looked online for good restaurants in the area. The Outer Bar showed up so my wife and I ventured over for dinner. The atmosphere is great and there was no wait to get in at the time we went. My wife and I both ordered the Lobster rolls not knowing they were going to be served cold. The lobster rolls were $48 each and were served with fries or a salad. My wife got the salad and it wasn’t that good. I got the fries and the roll was okay. So I basically paid $48 for French fries. My wife and I each got “specialty drinks” (mudslide and strawberry daiquiri) which were $21 each. We got the fried calamari as an appetizer which was very good. Grand total almost $200 for two people. Not what we expected but we just ate our food and left. In my opinion, not worth the money, especially for cold lobster rolls, which I understand is a way they are served but at least give people a heads up when they’re paying $50 for cold...
Read moreThis was my 3rd visit to the Outer Bar and Grille, and was very saddened and disappointed by the experience. I’m fully aware and understand that we’re in the middle of a Pandemic, but the previous restaurants I’ve been to in the past couple weeks were way more prepared and offered better dining experiences.
The menu was pretty limited, and the food was completely overpriced. $23 for a Turkey Club. $15 for Sangria that was so small and tasted like it came out of the bottle. $11 cup of Clam Chowder, when I’ve had way better tasting chowder. I asked the gentleman who seated us if the Raw Bar was still open, and he said no but we could still get Shrimp. So we ordered shrimp, clam chowder and calamari as an appetizer. The Calamari was pretty rubbery, and the shrimp was fine. However as we ate, we saw a waitress walk by with Oysters. I understand the gentleman wasn’t our waitress but come on. He didn’t know they were still...
Read moreExtremely disappointed. If the restaurant is no longer serving people not staying at the hotel, they should say so or put up a sign. Instead, they place you at the bar and never seat you, even when 1/2 the restaurant is empty.
I have been going to the outer bar & grill for over 15 years with my mother and have always had good service and food. Today, when we arrived we where asked if "we where staying at the hotel". Because we were not, the hostest said the we would need to have about a 20 min wait. We said fine and sat at the bar and ordered a glass of wine.
There we sat for 1 1/2 hours and watched tables get turned over twice, having the hostest seat at least 20 parties while half the tables remained empty. At this point we paid for our drinks and went to Chatham Bars Inn where we where treated like we where...
