I am so happy I decided to explore outside of downtown Philly to meet a friend in Ardmore to find this hidden gem. This was one of my favorite meals for my first visit to Philly, and it was tastier and more affordable than anything I could've found downtown. Our server, Leah, was super nice, transparent about the menu, and had a good sense of humor! Additional bonus points because they also offered a $4 special for my favorite vodka (Tito's) on Tuesdays. The experience just kept getting better and better after that nice surprise. Because I don't eat red meat, I was hoping to find somewhere that served a Chicken Cheesesteak. Lucky for me, McSorley's nailed it, and I've been craving this sandwich ever since eating it at the end of May! :) The family/staff who work there were very personable, welcoming, and accommodating. They helped me charge my dying phone behind the bar, which was most appreciated as I had to Uber back to my hotel later. I hope to come back someday soon for another Chicken Cheesesteak and great service. Thank you!

You need to update your online menu. You purposely left the old prices on there. Anyone reading this, the prices are insanely higher than the online menu. Also the pool table are 2.00$ a rack. Which is thee highest I've ever seen in Delco or anywhere else. Wings are 8 for 13.00$. Another rip off. Also, the InHouse menu is wrong also. I'm there on a Sunday with family and it states on the menu that the Sunday special is a bucket of 5 Miller lite bottles is 14$. When I ordered it the manager said that it's actually 20$ for the special and that the menu "was wrong". 20$ for 5 Miller Lite bottles is not a special. Also no soup. Under new management?? They're doing a serious injustice to that place. Current management has the wrong idea. Pathetic. Stay away. P.s. it's cold as an igloo in here. Make sure you have thermals on and a kerosene heater when visiting.

It was cold, late, I was tired and I wanted to have a bad time at McSorley’s and I did. The Cheesesteak was okay. It felt massed produced and it was a small crowd. The meat was finely chopped which I like. It didn’t seem like the pieces were mixed together and not much flavor. The roll was okay. At $8 I shouldn't hate it but why do I have to my bar tab separately from my food when I am seating at the bar? I didn’t feel the love at McSorley’s. I felt like I was in a bad Seinfeld episode.

Terrible food, slow service. This place is a joke. I wanted to love it. I strived to give it chance after chance but the only thing saving this bar is the live music and one bartender that has a great personality but is being mired in a ridiculous notation system for tracking inventory because the incompetent owner doesn't even have the business sense to invest in a point of sale system. Let's not even mention that the bar completely lacks a cohesive identity. Are you an Irish pub? Are you a sports bar? Do you serve Mexican food? Their sign looks like the bar is called Guiness. Their awnings are a hold over from its previous incarnation as a Mexican cantina. Their menu is a Hodge podge of poorly made flatbread and if you come in at 10 minutes of 10 you run the risk that tbe cook has already cleaned the kitchen for the night and is nowhere to be found so he doesn't have to be bothered making something and risking having to stay a couple extra minutes. Add to the headache that one of the female bartender was blatant caught trying to play fast and loose with our change. Fortunately being a veteran of the bike rallies across the country I am more than aware of where our money is and the games greedy employees play to pad their tips. Not this time sister. With lots of bars around and almost all doing things better, McSorleys will most definitely be changing owners again sooner rather than later. Fingers crossed that Joe the bartender has already found a better gig by then. Want live music? Got Hit The Nail down the street. Not a fan of their set up? Head out of Ardmore and hit The Eagles Den. Anywhere but this place unto the owner gets a clue or gets...

NEVER COME HERE! TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH RUDE OWNER, JOE

I have been coming to McSorley’s with my friends regularly for the past couple of months and have enjoyed the good deals and causal environment. However, on my most recent visit with several friends, the co-owner (Joe) asked to see our IDs (a fair request, as we are college students, but note that we are all of legal age) and rudely insisted that he would not accept non-Pennsylvania licenses. He eventually scanned our IDs and said we would have to leave after 1 beer (a strange move, since all of our IDs were valid). A few minutes later, three of our female friends arrived and he told them the same story about not accepting out-of-state IDs. When our friends questioned him about his reason he didn’t give an answer and kicked them out, telling them to “never come back”. At this point it became clear that Joe simply did not want college students (especially girls) in his bar and would not be reasonable and accept valid ID. It also became evident that he was drunk throughout our entire interaction. At this point we all agreed that we did not want to give this misogynistic jerk any more of our business, so we promptly left, and will never be returning.

If that’s how the owner treats loyal customers, I question his integrity both as a business owner and a human being. In short, it’s a damn shame that the owner of a bar that we have grown to love has made such a poor impression that he has lost the business of several enthusiastic patrons....

Myself and my friends had been loyal customers for several months. We loved their deals and their relaxed atmosphere. However, based on our recent experience with their extremely rude owner, we will absolutely not be coming back.

Myself and my 5 male friends, who had been patrons at this bar with many of the same bartenders, were sitting at a table enjoying our first round of drinks. The owner suddenly approached me and my friends asking for our ID's (a fair request, given that we are all in college and recently turned 21). He gave us back our ID's and said "sorry about that." A few minutes later, three of our female friends arrived at the bar. Upon their arrival, the seemingly drunk owner, Joe, asked each of the girls for their ID's, which they provided (they are all also of legal age). Upon inspection, the owner claimed that they "do not accept out-of-state ID's" (all of the girls are from out-of-state but are local college students) and told the girls to leave and never come back. The owner had previously inspected all of my male friends' ID's (several are from out of state) and said nothing of the sort. We finished the drinks we already had and left the bar almost immediately.

We are furious that the owner would treat our friends in this way, and it is because of this rotten and misogynistic experience that we will never be returning to this bar which we...
