I came to The Victorian on a whim, saw it was 5 stars, and I was skeptical. Until I set foot inside. This place is unique and incredible. The coffee is good, the bakery on the opposite side of the coffee bar churns out some really incredible looking and smelling pastries. I mistakenly ate before my visit, otherwise I would have been all over that. The coolest things to me having frequented coffee houses all over the place is the setting. It’s an old Victorian style house. It’s quiet, offers all kinds of nice COMFY and quiet corners on 2 floors just for introverts like me. It also has a social area next to the coffee bar for the extroverts. Sometimes when I think of Victorian house settings I think of such things as scary old bathrooms and horrible lighting. And no WiFi. Not the case here. The bathroom is renovated and modern, the common areas are well lit and inviting. And yes, they have WiFi. I love this place- it’s very counter-Starbucks. Everything is fresh, the coffee (I had a very good mocha latte) is wonderful and not burned, and they don’t have the ā€œtake your coffee and get out of hereā€ vibe that seems to be taking over in more mass market cafes. The picture I posted is just one of many rooms and sitting areas. Not to mention picturesque outdoor seating for when the weather is nice. So, if you’re ever heading in the general direction of Haw River and like coffee with atmosphere and a bit of a unique experience, I HIGHLY recommend the short detour off of I-40 to visit this cafe. It’s absolutely worth it.

It's a great place for a coffee, iced coffee, specialty coffee, seasonal drinks, lemonades, etc. They offer a wide-variety of drink options. I'd personally say a little high on the pricing, ($5 for a very small pastry and cookies that are on the smaller side.) Though in their defense, costs have gone up so much over the last 3-4 years with wholesale foods, ingredients, paper products, so it's a little understandable. As another person noted, there was no "how are youā€ from the barista. I'd say it's the setup. It's a very small space, broken up into different sections. And the barista simply CANNOT see the customers the way the counter is setup. The baristas have always been friendly and say hello from behind the espresso machine, but you cannot see them, they cannot see you. The cup sizes are on the small size. And a little flimsy. I worried about the cup and top letting go before I even got to my vehicle. Overall a good experience and we continue to go there on occasion. They have eliminated cookies, etc. Which is sad. But have added BLTs and Club sandwiches. Delicious sandwich, but VERY small for $10-12

Honestly. I love the vibes, I love the people, the cozy feeling in the morning, and the beautiful outside seating area. The food is ALWAYS good and it’s mostly homemade, who can complain when it’s so fresh. Some days it’s busier than others and there’s not a lot of room but that’s great! Business is good. I have a lot of compassion for the workers. They’re always so kind, they go out of their way to make sure I have what I need and they are gracious when I order something custom that’s not from the menu. I’ve never experienced any bad service but I also understand it’s a coffee shop so sometimes it gets busy and it’s hard when you have 20 drinks to make!!! lol. Overall, I would recommend the Victorian to anyone looking for a chill place to study or anyone wanting to catch up with an old friend. It’s a good place to bring your kids as well, a lot of kid friendly menu items. I’m definitely a...
