Pele's Other Garden Deli — Restaurant in Hawaii

Pele le pew! We were appaled by the way we were treated here not just once but twice! After the second time i am guessing it was mangement or owners sincecthe rest if the staff has always been over the top great with customer service. The first time we came in hoping for some lava flows, brushetta (which is amazing) and pasta. We were told they had reservations and could not accommodate the 2 of us. The place was completely empty. We were able to place a takeout order and told we could not even order a drink while we waited in their empty resteraunt for our order. So we went to Richard's for some drinks and picked up our take out in an again empty restaurant. To top this off, two days later, with a couple more guests, we walked in to find maybe a total of 4 people. The same not so pleasant lady greeted us by saying "takeout only." I asked if it was full menu and a lovely waitress said yes only to be shut down by the angry gueseppo of an owner, manager or other who would like to be that. I never felt more discriminated against in my life. I was angry but now I just feel bad for all the other great people who make this little place so good. Rude, rude, and even more unapproachable, we decided to stop in and try something to eat since there aren't many places in Lanai, but didn't even get the opportunity because "we're closed" in the most aggressive voice stopped us dead in our tracks. I apologized because we must have missed the sign and I was met with a blank stare and equally bad attitude, so we got back in our vehicle and went over to the Blue Ginger Cafe for the second time in a day and had another excellent experience! We went on August 28th for Happy Hour drinks and pupu's, as well as Pizza. All were great! We had the onion rings and battered french fries. Our pizza was a meat lovers. The food was good, and the service was great. Our server kept checking in on us through out the evening. She brought our orders to us piping hot. We chatted a few minutes with the Owner.
