La Cabana Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Hawkinsville

Not impressed. I've eaten at the location in Bonaire dozens of times. The Hawkinsville location doesn't hold a candle to it. Went in not terribly hungry and 3 months pregnant. Ordered the chicken quesadilla lunch combo. The plate was red hot, as if it had been microwaved. Rice and beans were bland. Cut into the chicken quesadilla and see some blood. Ok, one bite I won't eat, no big deal. Second piece cut off, same thing. Decide not to eat it. A gentleman working there, whom I've seen in the Bonaire location, was kind enough to remove it from our bill. Had that been the extent of the situation, I wouldn't be writing this review. I was then approached by a woman asking what was wrong with the food. When I explained, she scowled and told me that she is the owner and she can tell me that they double cook the chicken, first boiling it, shredding it, and cooking again with vegetables and spices. Essentially, this woman wanted to explain to me why she knows I'm a liar. Sorry, I don't go into restaurants, order food, then demand my money back. It's a shame because we've spent a lot of money at the Bonaire location but if this is how ownership talks to and treats customers,...

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE! There was two in our party. We were rushed to order to begin with. Food came out fast but mine was wrong. I had to go find the server to let her know and went back to my table. I sat down and started eating the beans and rice when she came to take my plate away! I told her there was nothing wrong with the beans and rice. She said that is what they are supposed to do! Meanwhile the person I am with is almost done eating! So I ask her to make it to go. Meanwhile our tea and water are empty and I am STILL waiting for my food. When she finally comes by she tells me my to go order is at the front counter. No refills on water or tea while we were waiting. The girl at the front asked me how everything was and I calmly told her. I then have her, a man and our server standing there acting like 'oh well' and the man says 'that is what we do' Now I am really upset because they really DO NOT CARE. I receive better treatment at fast food drive through!!! I guess I should have eating the beef chimi I received in error but the first and only bite I took did NOT...

Our first time eating at this restaurant was ok but....that was on a Saturday. This time it was tonight, Tuesday. The food absolutely lacked any kind of flavor whatsoever. The tamale had burnt pork in and underneath the masa/tamal you probably could have used as a first brick in the foundation of a home. Yes it was THAT hard and totally tasteless. The "red sauce" they call their "enchilada sauce" tastes like chef boyardi's spaghetti o's. I also had the soft taco supreme with beef. Beef??? You mean "beef paste" don't you? Gross! The Spanish rice was ok once I poured some cheese sauce, salsa and salsa verde on it . My husband and I got the same things on this date and agree that we will not be returning to this establishment. Friendly staff though and very clean restaurant...
