I typically don't do restaurant reviews but in this case i have to make an exception. For a local resident in Hayesville, we only have so many food options leading to constantly having to eat the same things day after day, which gets old.
In steps Chatuge's Southern Cafe. A welcome breath of fresh air when it comes to both breakfast and lunch in Hayesville. Chatuge's Southern Cafe has quickly become my go-to for lunch whether it be with my family on the weekends or throughout the week with my work crew.
Each day when you enter the restaurant you are immediately greeted by a welcoming friendly staff and the smell of some amazing groceries! The buffet is the only way to go in my opinion. Everything ranging from the extremely well stocked and FRESH salad bar, to the soups, to the hot bar.......and every now and again the occasional dessert, this place is phenomenal!
The food at this restaurant is ALWAYS amazing, consistency is never a problem. Staff ALWAYS keeps your drinks full and table cleared of plates (I guarantee you will make a second trip), and on top of the service, this place is ALWAYS clean!
Nowhere else in Hayesville will you get such amazing food (AS MUCH AS YOU CAN EAT) at a price that won't break your bank account. Something new every day, same prices every day, same cleanliness every day, same smiles every day, I could...
Read moreWe stopped in after church for some lunch. We opted to not do the buffet. Server was very pleasant, but forgetful. We never got our full drink order. The coffee was VERY week. My wife ordered a breakfast sandwich and some grits. They sandwich was not what she ordered, so it had to be remade, so I waited to eat my pitifully small burger and borderline raw fires until her meal arrived. Her sandwich was pretty good, but the grits were like soup. It took an long time for food to come out. All in all, we were very underwhelmed. Earlier this evening my wife left a review and was shortly thereafter contacted on Facebook messenger by Jennifer Rogers who claimed that this is HER restaurant. She was agressive in tone. Said how my wife was praising the buffet (we did not partake of that), said that she comped our meal (she did not, nor did we ask to be comped) and told my wife she should be ashamed of her review. That my friends is beyond the pale, there is NEVER a need for a restaurant to reach out and harass a customer like that. We dine out often. They didn't provide a level of service, nor quality of food to warrant a repeat visit. Miss Rogers' behavior has sealed their fate with us. If you like their food, great, we are happy for you and them. Miss Rogers - do better, as a restauranteur and...
Read moreI found this place when I searched Google for breakfast options in Hayesville other than fast food. The buffet was very reasonably priced and offered eggs, grits, biscuits, gravy, sausage, crispy bacon, potatoes, yogurt, and muffins. The drink was included & all this was maybe $2 more than fast food would have been. Since I was late eating breakfast, the salad bar was being set up before I left and also looked good. The only suggestion I have is to have ketchup, butter, syrup, and jelly available on the tables rather than having to ask for things but maybe it was just picked up before I got there since it was almost lunch time. Everything was really good and I loved having choices on a buffet so I could fix my plate like I wanted. I can't...
