DamnYankees — Restaurant in Heflin

So very disappointed! We stopped here back in August when we were traveling and had the best meal we have ever had. We live 5 1/2 hrs away and decided to take a road trip and bring my in-laws for a delicious meal. Completely embarrassed for bringing them here. They were not busy. Only table besides our own. Everyone’s steak was over cooked and my meal was wrong, not once but twice. No discount on the meal for anything, no real apology and no action taken to actually fix the problem. I will certainly never make the mistake of eating here again. Bill was $250.00 after tip, which they charge 18% tip no matter what. The new waitress that waited on us was not trained at all. Bar drinks were delivered before the water and sweet tea which were forgotten. When my mother in law asked if they had Prime rib, the waitress said no, but we have ribeyes or a half or whole rack. So obviously she thinks ribs and prime rib are in the same category. From August 30th 2022 to today when we went back, something drastically changed. I would not recommend this over priced garbage food to anyone at this point. Very disappointed and embarrassed for ever raving about the place. Guessing it was a fluke...

This was an absolute mistake of a night. I have only been there one time and that will be the only time in my life I will ever visit this establishment. The wings sucked. Ordered a salad with cheese lettuce and chicken only and it came out with olives eggs tomatoes cheese chicken and god knows what else on it. Had to remind the waiter continuously of our drink. When the bills came it got even worse. The waiter said help me help ypu help me by paying cash instead of card. Our bill total changed three times. Our friends bill jumped $16 by the end. All in all the food sucks the waiting sucls and the owner was within 10 feet of us and never came to see what the issue was. I do NOT RECCOMEND going to this lack luster establishment.

Thanks for your reply Dave but vomiting negativity is incorrect when the statement is, in fact, true. I'm sorry, but instead of trying to correct issues, you call it vomiting negativity. And actually we did ask to talk to the Owner not the manager multi0le times and the waiter kept telling us no.

AGAIN WE ASKED TO SEE DAVE MULTIPLE TIMES AND WERE DENIED. WAY MORE FUN AND RACK AND...

As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the friendly employees. They were all professional, attentive and courteous. Chef/Owner Dave even visited the tables to see how everyone liked their food. My husband had the Muffaletta and fries. The fries were perfectly crispy and the sandwich, even on a hoagie roll, was the "best (he'd) had!" I couldn't decide between the Monte Cristo, that sounded amazing, and the Shrimp & Grits. Our server recommended the Shrimp & Grits and I'm thrilled she did!! They were PERFECT! The Shrimp had a delicious Cajun kick (but not too spicy) perfectly blended with garlic and seasonings. It wasn't salty at all but was full of mouth-watering flavor in every bite. The portion was very generous and I wished I could've taken my left overs to go but we're on the road. Can't wait to get back here~ This place is a must if you're in the area. They have a full bar & were setting up live music as we were leaving. At the time of our visit, DamnYankees even had a near perfect health score of 99.
