Johnny & Hons Smokehaus — Restaurant in Heidelberg Township

The worst, slowest, and most inconsiderate establishment. This restaurant has no respect for a patrons time, money, or effort they go through to dine here. The 1/3 filled restaurant = a 1 hour and 15 minute wait for food.

Are you kidding me?

We only ordered a side salad and sweet potato fries, sandwich, tacos, and cheese fries. Party of 4.

After an hour of waiting, I asked the waitress how long more until the food was ready. The waitress said, you came in after we got sooooo busy. And it would take no longer than ANOTHER 15 minutes.

30 minutes to wait for food is long in a BUSY restaurant. This only had 1/3 of the restaurant full. The bar had a few people, but even less that ordered food. So to wait 1 hour then another 15 minutes on top of that is insane. We almost left but our host who brought us to the restaurant wanted to sit and talk and did not feel like finding another place to dine.

What made it worse is the cheese fries was cold by the time it made it to the table, the chips that came with the sandwich was stale, and the tacos lacked flavor.

I can't even believe the waitress didn't have the common courtesy to let us know the wait would be over an hour for food.

Mind you, we were there at 530p. EARLY!!! Too early for this big rush she claimed they had.

Supremely disappointed. Will not return and believe they should have offered something other than a lame, half-hearted apology.

What a waste of...

My fiance and I decided to stop off for Valentines day to give it a try. Waitress was great but the food was horrible. We ordered the nachos with brisket over the top or pulled pork and I believe a pulled pork or brisket wrap or something I cant remember exactly. What I can remember was it all had zero smoked flavor to any of it which caught me off guard considering its a smokehouse and it was described as smoked. Good poss. canned ingredients had been used, it was not even hot and it all had an off taste? Glad we did not get sick. It is a shame considering the place looks awesome and could be a staple for our area. Could be busy as all heck too if the food was better and had actual smoked meats so considering the parking lot was slim as well should of been another sign but we tried it anyway, huge mistake. I worked many years in the restaurant business and I do not normally complain at all but I am hoping that maybe this post helps whoever is running this place to take a new approach to some items on the menu because I truly believe this place could be...

What Happened?!? Not the Johnny and Hons I remembered. I'm giving them 2 stars only because the band that was playing was super talented. We were in the "pavilion area" which meant a bar menu, which would normally be fine. Except, it would seem that people in the Pavilion area do not hold the same priority in getting their food as people in the other part of the restaurant. Ordered things like nachos, fries, pork sandwhich, pretzel, salad, etc. The first item came out over an hour later, the second items 1.5 hours later and the last item 2 hours later. Food wasn't remotely warm, cheese wasn't melted. Fries soggy and cold as if they had been sitting out for a while. No one got their food at the same time. It was all kind of bleh. Not to mention the table was just kinda gross as our hands and personal items "stuck" to it. Didn't seem like it was adequately staffed? So disappointing!
