Oh my goodness! Top’s Diner, absolutely a hidden treasure out in the countryside of Pennsylvania for sure folks!! My husband and I stopped in here on our way back to Franklin County Pennsylvania from our visit to Penn State Beaver Stadium Luke Combs Gettin’ Old Tour Concert 80k 2nd concert ever at the stadium!
If you are coming through Huntington, PA and find yourself on 22 East passing through be sure to look this historic restaurant up, “Top’s Diner,” because well the food is AMAZING, the staff is even more AMAZING, and well you will feel like you just stepped into your Momma’s house for supper time!
Cannot say enough about how delicious the food was!! My husband and I stopped in for breakfast & after looking over the menu made decision to share our meals… we purchased the “Top’s Mess” breakfast which came with these ingredients mixed together… scrambled eggs, ham, sautéd onions and peppers and home fries all mixed together topped with cheese along with your choice of toast. We included an order of two (2) waffles to share as well.
What an excellent decision it was as this was just the perfect amount of food for he and I and OMGoodness!! DELICIOUS!!
Here are photos of our order to go… the favorite Peanut Butter Pie! YUMMY! Doesn’t this make you want to drive there right now just to get this delicacy piece of pie? Isn’t your mouth watering right now?
Again if you are in the area of Top’s Diner be sure to stop by and tell them Cindy sent you!! Cindy B from Google Guides...
Read moreMy waitress was lovely and attentive. My breakfast was pretty typical American Dinner fare.
The egg was cooked perfectly (over-medium, for inquiring minds).
The French Toast tasted exactly like French Toast should.
The bacon was a bit greasy, but very good.
Good coffee and the water tasted fine (some places around this part of PA don't have the best water).
They have "Scrapple - When Available" on the menu, which the waitress couldn't explain exactly what it was, other than meat mashed up with other things. "But it's very good," she assured me. It's a regional thing, that I'll have to try next time.
The service was quick, and they clearly support a lot of local happenings; as the decor mostly consisted of announcements, fundraisers, and articles of local stuff.
On a side note: the guy at the booth next to mine ordered steak and eggs. The steak did not look the typical breakfast steak. It was thick and looked delicious. I definitely had steak envy and will love having that with my Scrapple next time.
I look forward...
Read moremy husband and I bragged about the food to my son and grandson. After 5 hour trip we stopped at 5:45 pm on Friday August 2. It was busy but we got a table right away. It took 7 minutes for our server Keara to take our drink order and give us menus, another 10 minutes to take our order, another 10 minutes to get our drinks. Our food never came and 5 other tables that came after us got their food and left. Still no food! We questioned another server and then a male server came over to talk to us. Around 6:45 we finally got our order, no gravy that was ordered for the french fries, no rolls, and "Sorry we are out of Stewed tomatoes". Another couple waited for 15 minutes and no one waited on them so they got up and left. We should have done this too! But it seems funny that when we got up to leave our server could find our bill pretty quickly! My husband left her a 15% tip, I never would have. The food was good but service so chaotic and poor. ...
