Went last night they weren’t too busy because there was a lot of open tables still . Our party of 4 two adults & two kids plus 2 others(adults) we knew where there at the same time decided to share a table .,they sat us in the side back room .waited a good 15/20 mins before a waitress finally came and took our drink order . We ordered an appetizer and also the couple that sat with us (ordered oysters) . The oysters were dirty and muddy not washed off at all . He ate a few of the dozen they ordered and stopped does to how muddy they were . Which later that evening he became very sick ! We are sure it’s due to that . The waitress never came back to check on us or give us any refills . The kitchen staff bought out our food. Again she never came to check on us. We got the AYCE fish and we waited a while with no fish . Finally she came back with an attitude when I asked for more fish she said ok bought back 3 pieces for two people to share. The couple that sat with us ordered crawfish and she forgot that. So he had to wait on them. The crawfishes were so tiny they were had to peel . He ordered 4lbs and only ate about a pound due to the size . Still no refills on drinks . My son went his whole meal without a drink. We asked for some fresher white gravy for our daughters CFS because what they gave her was so thick and clumpy she couldnt use it . She never returned with the gravy . Even with all these mess up we still tipped her . 25% of our bill so $19 CASH . She gave us our tickets and rushed us to leave and said pay upfront . She quickly as we were getting up grabbed the cash tip and not one thank you , which I didn’t really expect it . The couple we were with told Us to look at our check because she added gratuity on it of 20% . Now we have been in there numerous times drive over an hour to come never have we been charged on our bill a gratuity fee! We have even came in parties as large as 14 before ! Still no gratuity fee on any of our tickets . Me thinking surly it’s a mistake , as I work as a waitress in a fine dining establishment we don’t even add that ourselves. It’s suggested. I question the Emo girl upfront at the register and was told it’s a state LAW and she can’t remove it . I’m like do what ?!! There is no such law and tell her I left a cash tip she already pocketed on the table and I wasn’t going to pay that added gratuity fee. She than tells me the waitress adds that on the ticket herself and it’s up to her with percentages to add. I’m like WTH I’ve never in my life have heard of a waitress/waiter telling me what to pay for their service provided . Again tips are appreciated and highly suggested. How was this girl going to tell me her service she provided us was worth 20% . Again that’s up to the customer on what percentage to pay NOT her. After a good while staying the facts and laws to emo girl she removed it , after saying she can’t . Now NOT one place in this restaurant does it say any party above 5 a automatic gratuity fee is added . If she wasn’t going to remove it . I was going to tell her to call the owner or police because I agreed to pay my bill for food just not the added gratuity fee . Trespass me or whatever they felt like doing if it came to that point . I wasn’t paying her a double tip ! But even if they did that they wouldn’t have to worry because we will never come back . So last night they lost 7 customers plus all my family Who goes there now knows what they do .So they lost more than 7 . All due to the greediness of their waitress and the emo girl . Maybe they need to refresh their employees on what the law actually is. And maybe post a sign that says a tip fee is added in parties of 5 or more . No telling how much money this girl has pocketed doing this and people...
Read moreOn January 9th my family of 16 decided to dine in here while we were in town for my younger sisters funeral. It was our first night in from Baton Rouge and we were tired, hungry, had details of the services to discuss and had been traveling most of the day and had heard great things about the food.
We arrived and were seated in a private type room off to the right as you enter the door. Not too bad, until every time someone entering or exiting the restaurant opened the door and the cold as ice air breezed through the room we were in. Asked the waitress if we could close the doors to the room and was told not at this time, as she walked off. Ok, maybe she was in a hurry.
She took our drink order and returned with those. We asked for a few minutes before she took our order so we could figure the kids orders out in our party. 25 minutes later she returns to take our order. Most people in our party ordered the all-you-can-eat fish. My brother in law ordered the grilled pork chops and I ordered a side salad, these are the significant "other" items.
Food came and all seemed fine, until my side salad didn't come. The waitress says my salad is taking a bit longer because they fixed a regular salad by mistake and had to put it in a smaller side salad bowl. 10 minutes later I get my simple side salad and no dressing. My brother in law was eating his pork chops and they were still raw. We informed the waitress and she says she will get the kitchen to finish cooking them. We explained that with a pandemic we'd rather new ones being cooked. THIS moment is where I had enough. She caught an attitude right there at the table at our request and says she'll have to ask the kitchen staff, but doesn't think that is doable. She returns and takes his plate and says they will make new ones. It has been 15 min since she left and at this point he is getting sick to his stomach and just wants to leave.
Keep in mind these were all you can eat fish dinners. Never does she return in the 2 hours we were there to ask if anyone wanted a refill of fish, my nephews had to wave her down to ask. She refilled our drinks one time in 2 hours.
We ask her to not make any more pork chops and just take it off the bill. Well, guess what wasn't done. Got the check and it was wrong. She had charged me for the pork chops and a full salad. I asked her to fix it and she SNATCHES the receipt out of my had. My mother who was sitting next to me got up to find a manager. At this point I am livid.
The manager had someone else bring the refills of drinks and fish to the table that were request but never brought. She had to get another waitress to get to go plates for those who didn't get the fish. She had to fix the bill that the waitress obviously couldn't or didn't want to. She had to run my card, give a refund and then run the card again, because it still wasn't correct.
This was officially the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant and I have been in one that was being shot at while I was inside, and this is still the worst. If you value your sanity, money & self respect, you won't eat...
Read moreI had high hopes for this place based off of the reviews and word of mouth. I went at lunch time and got there early, 11:00am. You would think that I would have had great service and food since the rush had not started yet, you'd be wrong. The first thing I noticed was how dirty and dingy everything was, but, I have eaten in plenty of hole in the wall places and had fantastic food. I was briskly greeted by a waitress that was in the middle of training a new hire. She was rude and I chalked it up to the fact she may not have been wanting to train the new person. I was seated and a menu was tossed on the table and asked if I wanted a tea. I replied water and the twosome walked off. They returned with my water and I ordered the stuffed crab. It would be a while until these 2 visited me again. I was watching the way the experienced waitress communicated to the newly minted waitress, and if it would have been me I would have run for the hills. She was rude, condescending and disrespectful to the new person, it put a really bad taste in my mouth and I thought I could not believe the management would allow this abuse. My food was delivered to my table and the delivery person was gone before I could ask for cocktail sauce. No one even looked my way again until I was done eating. The food was tasty (hence the 3 stars instead of 1) but the portion was small. I have had stuffed crab at many local restaurants around East Texas including Longview, and Tyler and this was minuscule comparatively. I finished eating and waited about 10 minutes with an empty plate on the table for the check. Once again the brusk waitress delivered the check with no words, ran my credit card, delivered it back with no words and promptly walked off. I'm not one to leave small tips so I tipped $10 on $8 worth of food and left. I hate to say it, but the waitresses attitude and rudeness is the reason I won't recommend nor will I darken the door of this place again....
