Marssa used to be our weekly Date Night go-to however, staff changes have negatively altered the food and dining experience. We waited decades for a drink and appetizer order, only to have both be incorrect and served with the utmost rudeness of wait staff, who insisted we somehow ordered the incorrect items.
Cue up the entrée, whereby a zealous debate on behalf of our server ensued as to whether sake sashimi (salmon) should be served with the skin on (it shouldn’t), and of which was marketed as a delicacy. Keeping a guarded open mind and sense of adventure, I figured, “hey, let’s give it a go.., maybe(?!)”, … and I am certain our server won some award from the sushi chefs who dared him to serve it that way, because it felt like I was biting into a human flesh prop on an episode of the Walking Dead.
I discarded said bite into my napkin & could see my hubby was livid for my having to do so, so the rest of the evening was definitely downhill from there, lol.
We canceled any other items and were amusingly surprised when my hubby’s iced tea was finally refilled upon departure (I never did receive my martini). The hubbs said, “go grab the martini from upstairs that you never received… I’ll be with management..”
My martini at the hotel bar was good and the hubby arrived with a full refund for our dinner. Despite the full refund & gracious (if not embarrassed) mgt., the damage was done & after much consideration, we will never be back. We are locals & disappointed that the restaurant has taken a turn...
Read moreHappy hour is $5 miso soup, seaweed salad etc sushi rolls little cheaper and drinks cheaper. I think they should stick to that 4 regular prices. Restaurant was unappealing w/outdated carpet and view is hidden corner nothing good compared to eating outside patio direct in your face views or in looby restaurant. Asked if can eat patio, told no. Was stuck in that enclosed room. 5 stars to the freshness of the micro, tiny pieces of fish I got was very fresh food was good, waiter was beyond nice felt bad he was stuck in there. But menu prices way to much would rather of ate from lobby restaurant and seated ouside(heaven view) or in lobby restaurant looking directory at that (2nd heaven awesome view). Ow, only offered weird seats because was told others was reserved yet, only 3 other people was there entire time lol. Views did not make a difference in seating because it's lower end corner restaurant and not direct or clear views it was about just personal comfort in the small place.
Pros. There happy hour slim if can make it. But only time worth going. Fresh good food. Same as others (sushi mon, hikiri ec) without the high class presentation thou. Wonderful waitres, friendly ,helpful, great. Neat presentation of food.
Cons. outdated carpet. Low end corner restaurant so views not good. Enclosed feeling, and can't opt to seat patio:( Regular menu items way to much and...
Read moreWe booked our reservation through OpenTable and made the note that we were going to be celebrating our wedding anniversary. We decided to show up 20 minutes before our book reservation and we were surprised that there was no wait. We were greeted by the hosts and she was so kind and welcoming. We were sat near a window view And we were quite pleased with the view. Our waiter was very attentive and not to mention that the chef came and met everyone in the restaurant also!! That made it so special of having the chef from the restaurant come and meet their guests. For dinner, I order a chicken pineapple curry with white rice and it was beyond delicious. Honestly, if I were to go back, it would be for this chicken curry!! I was a little scared that pineapple will overpower the flavors, but it did not it had such a smoky flavor of the spices. Definitely worth every...
