This by far has been the best Hotel/Resort restaurant I've ever dined. From the restaurant manager Ed Laipple to his entire staff including the ones working at Sandsa Bar & Grill out by the pool, their level of customer service, professionalism, caring spirit and friendly attitude, they've made our stay at The Westin Lake one we'll never forget.
This was the first time my fiance' has been to Vegas and after our encounter with these EXTRAORDINARY individuals taking Exceptional care of us while were here, he can not wait to go back. I'm telling you, if you're visiting Vegas and would like to experience the best of both worlds, stay at The Westin Lake Resort and I promise you would not regret it. It is 25 minutes from the Strip, but trust me, the peace this place gives is worth the drive.
The waiters and waitresses were very good. I LOVE drinking tea in the mornings for breakfast, and the fact that every morning I had my own little tea pot with my tea cup just tickled me. I LOVED it. The restaurant was very warm, inviting, cozy and the location was perfect. We never had to wait a while on a table no matter how busy the restaurant was, the flow worked well, and they were very accommodating.
We've enjoyed ourselves so much, we're considering having our wedding here or even bringing our family as a get away. The Buffet Menu could probably change a little daily, but the food prepared hands down to die for. The fact that you had the option of eating from the buffet or ordering off of the menu provided options and many more choices.
We will definitely be visiting again. The only down fall is that Buffet for 2 would average $50 a day, so if you're traveling with more people it can become very costly. We were blessed to have complimentary breakfast offered by the hotel staff, so we were able to save about $300 since we stayed for 6 days. Overall though, will not trade my experience...
Read moreOn January 1st, we were excited to visit this place after enjoying a great New Year's Eve celebration the night before. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing from the start.
The young blonde hostess was quite rude. When she saw us arrive, she ignored us for a few minutes while chatting with a waiter.
The first question she asked was, "Why are you here?" which felt uninviting. We calmly responded, "We're here to eat." She made a disgusted sound and asked, "Do you have vouchers?" When we replied no, she reacted with another sound of discomfort and began to write something down.
We thought she might be tired from the night before or overwhelmed with work, we asked if she was okay. She then responded, "Excuse me, I don't understand what you're saying." At that point, we decided we had enough of the interaction.
I can't imagine how she treated customers who did have vouchers.
The hostess is the first interaction with the restaurant, so I hope they pay attention to this. We might try again because we had an amazing experience with Marssa restaurant so we were hoping to find Ricks Cafe as...
Read moreDefinitely skip Rick’s if you’re looking for vegetarian dishes or salads. The farro-kale-mushroom dish was 85% farro with tiny shreds of kale and mushroom. The Cobb salad was unacceptable. Gobs of ranch dressing in the lettuce and shrimp that taste like they’ve been frozen and thawed at least 5 times before it got to me.
They are also not good for gluten-free diets. We were told the farro was gluten-free but it’s not. My date spent the night in the bathroom.
For two salads and two green teas the total was over $50.
Service was great. Food came out fast. Even on a holiday weekend. They offered to get me a new dish or a dessert. I don’t blame the staff at all. Please bring in a vegetarian chef to...
