Service is usually fair/good but this latest visit was quite poor.
It was Sunday lunch rush and they appeared to be understaffed. Our group of 9 waited patiently for at least 30 minutes before making it to the front of the seating line. We told an employee that came to the podium how many were in our party, and she took off to start bussing a cluster of tables in the center that had just been vacated. I assumed they were going to put two of those middle tables together, but I was never told one way or the other.
Another employee was making a circuit between the kitchen and the front desk to handle payments, and each time she did so, she would glare at us with an exasperated sigh—as if to make clear just how much of an inconvenience we were. On two occasions that same employee would look behind us to a smaller group and say, for example, "Oh, there are only 4 of you? Go ahead and grab a seat;" then the group would go and grab one of the tables in the center that the first employee had cleared off. The first employee never returned, and we were ignored for another half hour or so before finally giving up and leaving.
I would expect them to have an employee dedicated to seating customers so that this kind of situation could be avoided. Larger groups are inconvenient, but that does not warrant passive aggression and ignoration. This plus the total wait time of over an hour is unacceptable, and I don't anticipate my family to be returning...
Read moreSo I'm no expert but I will say this about the place, the building is beautiful but the good old saying location location location screams here, inside beautiful but the scenery from out the windows are much to be desired, my wife and I ordered our food and after asking the staff some questions on things we placed our order... We received our food one plate at a time. Order of nachos came to us with all the white cheese sauce on the bottom of the plate and then came our single taco on a plate by itself then came our enchilada and what they call a burrito. It was a flour tortilla with cheese inside no beans beef or anything else at all. I was really shocked after hearing so many good things and than utter disappoinment, the place has potential to be a great place but they for sure needs to address their presentation of the food and the staff needs to be informed on how things are made and also be able to answer simple questions such as how long has the place been open here at this location... On the front door they are looking for alot of people to work there and that tells me that 1 they are new or 2 they over work their staff for peanuts not sure but I'll give them credit and will change this review in a few months when I go try it again and hope alot has changed for the better.... Until then it's just a ok place but nothing to brag about at all at least...
Read moreAt one time i would have given LoPo a good review but times have changed. Service quality has been steadily dropping and is now at a point where i will not likely be returning. My most recent visit was with my family and a friend. Our friend ordered the Fajita Pasta and requested a half order which she had gotten there in the past. The waiter (who was apparently new) said that was not an option so our friend requested that he go back and check with the kitchen. 10 minutes later he came with the full size order and set it before here without explanation. Not wanting to complain she accepted it and began eating. She soon fished an item out of the pasta and realized that it was a wire bread tie that had been cooked into her meal. I flagged down our waiter and showed him the bread tie and explained the situation. Without word he took the bread tie and disappeared into kitchen. We only saw him one more time when he walked by our table and dropped the ticket which had not been adjusted. El Ranchito just got a...
