Food was good. But they tried to overcharge me and that turned my taste. Service was just OK at best.

Response. Not sure how to respond to the owner other than editing my initial review. We were at the business around 10:00 am on April 6. I had a charge of $2.95 on our bill. I asked about it, apparently after it was entered in the cash register. They then took it off the bill after determining it was an overcharge she said to take the $2.95 off the bill. I mentioned that wouldn’t take off the tax at which point she said she would give me 5 cents for the tax. Then s(e ended up giving me a bunch of ones. I honestly don’t know if we were over charged or undercharged. I don’t know why she just didn’t cancel the transaction and start over. I really feel like I was short changed by...

Chestnut Inn? More like Moldy Walnut Super 8! I will never be eating here again. I can't even look at a Monte Cristo sandwich anymore after what they served me. Turkey was "laced" with strange "holes" and smelled like a wet dog. Even the fries tasted off. My partner ordered liver and onions and it arrived very overcooked and flavorless. The soup was worse than Campbell's.

Service was curt, unfriendly and unwelcoming. The place looks like a tacky old Chinese restaurant and has no atmosphere and is very dilapidated and dated. Probably one of the worst restaurants I've ever eaten at.

Save your money for...

I have passed by the local restaurant many times over the years and thought “I need to try that place. A little local restaurant, they can have really good food.” This one did NOT!! I ordered a milk shake thinking “good. A shake made individually, not from a machine.” It was HORRIBLE. Grainly, horribly flavored, obviously cheap ingredients. The coleslaw tasted nasty. The patty melt was okay. I can’t believe how many good reviews this place has! Where do these people normally eat? I would NEVER go back...
