Prairie Fire Grill — Restaurant in Heyworth

Went in about 730 on a Friday night first time there we live in Heyworth so excited to go. Place is really nice inside layout is good. We sat in booths against back wall btw the bar lights block the TVs from there. I ordered a chicken and bacon pizza with bbq sauce on top and got a buffalo ranch pizza it was still very good just not want I ordered and it was $3 more. My wife ordered a burger she liked it and my daughter ordered a buffalo bacon sandwich. Her bacon didn’t make it on the sandwich. Preston was our server. He was very nice but my pizza came first after about 30 mins. Then 10 mins my wife’s burger and 5mins my daughters and 5 mins her bacon so in my 20 yrs of restaurant experience you never bring food out separate ever. It makes your restaurant look incompetent. Now I know this is just a small town place and you gotta give some leeway however once I saw that it’s was 2 20-30 yr olds and a bunch of young teens running the place I knew why all of this happened. You still have to train your staff regardless of small town or not. So overall like the atmosphere food was good little pricey for what it is in my opinion our bill was $50. It's okay, it's basic bar food. This place is really clicky if you're not in the popular crowd of this small town you get really poor service. But if you're one of the people that they like they will never leave your table and treat you like a God, But unfortunately that's not the treatment we got. The People next to us sat down ordered and received their food before we were even waited on!!! I had to get up and go to the bar and tell 3 waiters and waitresses who are standing at the bar that my table would like to have drinks and would like to order food.... I could tell by the interaction that whoever was sitting at the table next to me we must have been very important and popular because they had 3 servers working that table and not one of them turned around to serve us and there was 4 of us. So as long as you know everybody that works at the bar and they like you, you get excellent service, but if you're an out-of-towner just forget about it don't even come here you get better service...

The decor in this restaurant is quite nice & the gentleman who helped my table was patient & friendly. That being said I didn't like the food enough to return. Their iced tea was just awful. The pizza tasted no better than your run of the mill $5 frozen pizza from the grocery store. It was on $10 for any toppings special the day I visited. My salad was, I'm guessing, bagged salad mix onto which they cut up some very sour onions & tomatoes. My burger unfortunately also had the same sour onions & tomatoes on it, though the meat had good flavor & their homemade chips weren't bad. The food isn't worth what they're charging, but as there aren't all that many restaurants in town to choose from maybe they can get away with it. I'll stick with Corona's...
