TO BIZ RESPONSE: If you had that many orders already, and I was explaining my time constraint, then don't take the order. It is just that simple. Do keep your sarcastic remarks (about controlling traffic, I was putting that on me not you) to yourself. I asked if they could prepare food in time for me, to eat or take away, around 30-45 minutes before seating. Let's say that meant getting the food in 10 minutes (I only asked for food before I had to go, take-out was an option OR having it for me after the show, which they offered to others but not to me) THEN the server says they cannot make the food in time; so saying 10 minutes only makes YOU look WORSE. You did not take the time to understand my review. This is why good reading skills and stress management are important. I think people reading my review will understand this was a special circumstance and that I put blame on myself for not being able to order the food much earlier. But it still lies on you. Why? The problem still lies with you because my food order was taken WITH clearly stated time constraint when it should not have. This is not the first show the place had and I do not know how long your staff has been there,; but you should have been better prepared because you are within walking distance. People going to the show are going to visit you. Your awful preparation is still on you. That could have been understood. But your rude angry attacking response is here now and that is what is really going to hurt you. You hurt yourself way more than I did. I hope you can learn from this. I bless you and wish you well.

Review: If you are going here before the show, prepare to eat here hours before the show. It took me over an hour to get here. I did not see a way to make reservations. I am 1 person, but they did not have a seat for me. Then a group left and they were rearranging things; which allowed someone to finally sit with the rest of his group. Which also opened up a seat for me at the bar. I was finally able to order. Now that I had an actual seat at the bar and not just a big gap where there was not a barstool. I was still in a good mood though. Clearly they are busy and I should have gotten here a bit earlier; but I didn't know I would have to contend with dummy drivers going 20 under the posted limit on a one lane and I had trouble finding a way to pass them safely. So I calmly and clearly told them with that I was here to see the show and I was on a timer. I told them when the show started. Because of all these people out can cause stress, so I was detailed polite and a good communicator. Therefore, I told them the time I had to be there and asked if they had time to prepare a food for me to have time to eat it. They said yes no problem. So I ordered something I thought should be quick: a cheeseburger and waffle fries. I got my drink right away per usual. But I kept waiting for my food as it got closer and closer to my show. I asked politely for an ETA and they acted as if it was all good. But it wasn't. I ran out of time and had to cancel my food order. I finally got someone's attention and told them. She said she had to check in back with the cook first. What does that have to do with me? She comes back and said they said it's ok. I say I'll pay for my drink. I get the check and pay for the drink. But the delay made me late for my show Luckily the show started a few minutes later than the posted start time. I can't rate the food because I never got any. I can't really rate the atmosphere fairly. It is a bar and grill. While it is true the staff were busy with a packed bar, I was the antithesis of a Karen. I was very careful in explaining my situation clearly. I gave them the option to only prepare me food if they thought they had time. That is why I gave service only 1 star. TBF it was packed and they were crazy busy so I am sure this is not common so please visit them. Just go very very early if you have the show to go to, because it was the only restaurant within walking distance...

If you haven't tried the Chicken Philly from The Hickman Bar, you are missing out. This is my go-to order with tater tots. Because they're tater tots are so good. The queso jalapeno poppers are like, Oh my God delicious. Even the grilled cheese sandwich is amazing. The salads are huge. On Wednesday nights they have music Bingo and taco night. The lunch specials are amazing, and oh my goodness, the pizza... This place is so good. I love that it's next door to my work. Go here! This place is like Cheers. Go there and everyone will remember your name. Norm! The food is great, the prices are fair. I don't know what else you'd want in a bar and grill. I have friends who go more regularly than I've been and they always have about the service they receive and I can't agree more. The people there make you feel like you're at a friend's house, not a local bar.
