I often order breakfast from this location on Sheridan Road, but today is going to be my last time as I just experienced something very humiliating and uncomfortable. I live equal distance between two Starbucks locations but this is the one I regularly order from. Today I decided to take my baby for a walk to pick up breakfast from Starbucks for myself, therefore this required me to bring my service dog. As I arrived to this Starbucks location, one employee standing right outside the doors about to walk in themselves asked me “Is your dog a service dog?” and I answered her question “yes”. So this employee politely held the door open for me so I can walk in pushing my stroller with my service dog. As I was standing in the entrance doors, another employee named Deanna (and I only know her name because when I asked her for it, she confidently let me know and walked to the back) starred at me and my dog with a look of disgust shaking her head no. I froze looking at her with discomfort and asked “so are you denying me service?” And Deanna looks at me shaking her head No again and rolls her eyes as she walks away. She made it very clear that she was denying me service. I even responded saying “wow, you understand what you’re doing is illegal denying me service with the service dog. I am mortified.” I was completely humiliated. I couldn’t believe they denied me service especially with a service dog. I was mortified and want to make it heard Someone of this location working there thinks it’s acceptable to treat people like this and needs to...
Read moreOne Tuesday, 3:30 ish my mother walks into this starbucks, orders bread and a drink, bread comes no drink. After a while no drink, so she does what everyone else would do, asks an employee about it, apparently she speaks to the guy handing out stuff for the drive through, rudely slides the drink to my mom, the kicker is, when she asks for a straw, he flings it at her.... That has got to be the rudest, most moronic thing I can think of, when do you ever ask for a straw or anything and have it tossed to you. Absolutely unacceptable behavior and it just reflects the poor training by upper management. You do not under any circumstance, no matter how much you think this annoying elderly oriental lady is being to you, while you are busy, you do not do this to anyone! But I bet this person thought he could get away with it, because she was a elderly asian woman, and not a north shore suburban white mom, because you know all hell would break loose if it was the ladder. But because shes an asian, oriental, cant speak english that well, they thought they could just do whatever, Corporate reps have reached out to us, but my gracious mother does not wants to not make a big deal out of it. We can easily know the name of who it was based on the day and time and who was working the drive through, I am sorry but a free drink and half hearted apology will not accepted for...
Read moreStarbucks has always set the service bar pretty high IMO. Staff are almost always friendly and cheerful. This is one of three neighborhood Starbucks that I frequent and is usually very busy. Normally I use the drive through but I was in a hurry so I decided to go inside to place my order. I wasn't disappointed. I was greeted immediately by very friendly staff. They quickly took my order. I asked about bagged coffee choices and they explained what they had for sale. After I made my selection I was asked how I would like it ground. A short conversation later about my preferences and my coffee was ground perfectly. A very positive experience. Honestly everyone in there was amazing. I've seen service suffering at many restaurants over the last year. Most of the time staff at other establishments just don't seem to care. There's no malice, there's just indifference. Not the case here. The staff at this Starbucks really left me with a positive impression of Starbucks and this store in...
